mkscrewy
What was the state of the Wild team before Minnesota fired Chuck?

They had Risebrough as GM from 1999-2009 and that included one division title and three playoff appearances. The state of the Wild probably was probably not all that good. With Chuck, they had six playoff appearances in nine years. I would say it improved a bit from the prior regime. FD19372
Don't get too excited. The conference will be about the hire of Torchetti, to add to the *fans' torture.

The state of the team is a difficult question, but the state of this fan back then was desperation: "No future, there's no future, no future for you". Fletch had used all the draft picks for rentals, in denial of the fact that the Wild would never win a series against the Hawks, and the best paid players were dictating their TOI, their linemates and which rink they wanted to have their practices in. The change started with Fenton replacing Fletch, Fenton getting rid of the getting nowhere young guard, and then Fenton thrown out for Guerin, who threw out the rotten old guard and the scouts who never picked the right prospects. It was a mess, a cesspool filled with pus, no matter if we managed to get into the playoffs. Philly will get better if the next GM or two are former players with a lot of sandpaper in their personalities.

Don't be stranger ......... ha, i dunno, man, coming back here and seeing LITERALLY the same exact post topics and conversations, just with all new names in the organization, PTSD is a real thing. and don't mention giroux as the common thread, because he was a faint source of hope many years into the "we have our awesome moments, but really, don't take us seriously, they are just moments" era of the flyers. don't want to be a stranger, but touching the hot stove that hasn't been turned off for like 20 years.... that said, it's pretty awesome to see so many of you still around. you are dedicated (and deeply masochistic) people, much respect to each of you.
