It will only be 38 after this year but who's counting right? (Do they teach math over there on the other side of the state? :P )

To the keeping of your day job, Polaris, we welcome you!!! ;)

You missed my point. You're IN the 38th year... It will become the 39th after this one ;)

You know that's not a rule anymore, right? From page 148 of the rulebook:

A. An attacking Player is in the crease when the puck enters the crease then crosses the goal line. In no way does he affect the goalkeepers ability to defend his goal. - Goal is allowed, this is a good goal.

Emphasis mine. Since the player was in the crease when the puck entered, he was by definition in there when the puck wasn't. Yet this is still a good goal. ergo, it is permissible for a player to be in the crease when the puck is not. Especially when the goalie has inexplicably fled the crease when the pcuk is still in it.

Except Vokoun goes back into the crease and Knuble "falls" on top of him just before the puck gets shot back in. I'm not saying Vokoun would have made the save, but since it was fired over him he should've been afforded the freedom to move (I.e. turn over) and try. Knuble being on top of him prevented that.
