Howie58
Greetings: Well, we have a matinee against the Islanders, who give up nearly a goal less than we do per game. They are favorites (-140), and win about 2/3 of the time in that role. Here is lineup, per NHL.com. It looks like a repeat of the Nashville game: Islanders projected lineup Anders Lee -- Brock Nelson -- Anthony Beauvillier Zach Parise -- Mathew Barzal -- Oliver Wahlstrom Josh Bailey -- Jean-Gabriel Pageau -- Kyle Palmieri Matt Martin -- Casey Cizikas -- Cal Clutterbuck Adam Pelech -- Ryan Pulock Zdeno Chara -- Noah Dobson Andy Greene -- Scott Mayfield Ilya Sorokin Semyon Varlamov Scratched: Ross Johnston, Sebastian Aho, Kieffer Bellows Injured: None Flyers projected lineup James van Riemsdyk -- Derick Brassard -- Cam Atkinson Joel Farabee -- Kevin Hayes -- Gerry Mayhew Oskar Lindblom -- Morgan Frost -- Travis Konecny Max Willman -- Patrick Brown -- Zack MacEwen Ivan Provorov -- Cam York Travis Sanheim -- Rasmus Ristolainen Keith Yandle -- Justin Braun Carter Hart Martin Jones Scratched: Kevin Connauton, Nick Seeler, Claude Giroux Injured: Ryan Ellis (lower body), Nate Thompson (shoulder), Scott Laughton (concussion) Mayhew was waived, so his status may change. Brassard and Braun are showing in the lineup despite trade rumors. This is the official start of the post-Giroux era.
OccamsRazor
Good news though. However i will say Braun is playing some of his best hockey since he has been in Philly right now. Good for him he has been a good soldier. I wish him well. 1
GratefulFlyers
I expect Fletcher will get swindled when he deals Braun but it'll open a roster spot for someone different. Change is good...I guess. And Brassard? Seems to me he should fetch something.
OccamsRazor
Which i hope that isn't bad news with JVR, Brassard and Yandle still playing though unless yeah they have to ice a team still. OccamsRazor
Ok this is why there wasn't any other callups... ...makes sense i can not stand seeing Yandle give York PTSD at such a young age.
GratefulFlyers
yeah I liked the Provorov / York pair 1000x better than Yandle / Anyone - even if it is York's off-side.

Howie58
Well, Tippett has wheels. I hope he contributes. They are skating well against a good D. I guess the shock is over quickly.

Howie58
Good for Hayes. He's getting his footing. On the other hand, WTF, what about JVR?

Braun won’t be going to the Leafs, anyways. They just acquired Giordano from Seattle. Not sure what other teams are looking for defensive depth.
GratefulFlyers
Zach MacEwen is everywhere on his shifts hunting down the puck, whipping it on net whenever he can - throwing his body into every check...Perfect 4th liner. I wish we could transplant his energy and drive into Morgan Frost. Supposedly Frost is playing center today but you'd never know it. AlaskaFlyerFan
MacEwen got high sticked in the last game and it broke his tooth. The ref only called a 2-min penalty on the Sens. A little while later, he spit the rest of the tooth out.

Howie58
Well, they played a disciplined game. A power play score-shocking. Our newbie looks good. And, they have up the first goal and still won. As for Frost--I see talent but wonder if he can execute fast enough?

Samifan
Didn’t watch a second of the game. I guess Hayes is playing better since his “infected groin” finally healed. I assume the Flyers had to face their #1 nemesis, an empty net during the final minutes? Did they even get out if their own zone and take a crack at scoring on the empty net? flyer4ever
Idiots. Did they keep Atkinson, Brassard, JVR, Yandle, Jones, Braun, Brown out of the line up today for trade purposes?
mojo1917
@flyer4ever I think just Braun and Jones were held out. Jones by virtue of Hart starting. I was surprised to see Brass playing. I think he's on his way out too. Edited March 20, 2022 by mojo1917

They didn't have time for callus the Phantoms didn't get back in town till 3 am this morning and they had to ice a team. I'm holding out hope some of this dead weight can still be moved... I also think this was the Isldd with game in 7 days, and they may have been drained.

Howie58
I think it is Konecny. Jeepers can't spell his last name after seeing it for years.
