After what i have seen that was a blind squirrel finding a nut finally.

But the problem in one nut can not sustain you at the end of the day it is still one nut.

It's time to get Hart a competent goaltending coach that he deserves.  Someone who knows what it takes to be an NHL starting goaltender and how to coach that skill that it takes.  It's time to get rid of Dillabaugh.  I don't care if he's a good guy, or if Hart likes him.  Carter does not need a "friend" coaching him at this point in his career.  He needs someone that's capable of bringing out Carter's talent.  Dillabaugh seems to be teaching VERY poor stick hand/blocker techniques, in every single one of the Flyers goaltenders since he's been hired as their goaltending coach.  Carter is often dropping his shoulders, making his body smaller, when he should be concentrating on making his body larger.  Especially since he's a smaller goaltender.  And he appears to be anticipating plays instead of relying on his talent and technique.  These are obviously things that are being taught by coaching that should not be happening for a NHL starting goaltender.  Dillabaugh has been the constant with the Flyers throughout this long duration of mediocrity.  It's time for that to change and to stop allowing him to destroy Carter's career.  He's quickly turning Hart into nothing but a backup NHL goaltender, AT BEST.  This can not be allowed to continue.  It's time that the excuses and the blame on the play in front of this team's goaltending stops immediately.  And it's time for a change to happen.

Dear Fire,

Welcome to the Board!

I suspect coaching will come under scrutiny. I doubt Yeo is the head coach next year. Dillabaugh might face the firing squad as well.

My fear for any goalie in this system is prematurely aging. If the D doesn't improve, the goalies will be shell shocked by seeing too much rubber early on. That may explain why we get a vet next year instead of Sandstrom or Fedotov, etc as backup.

This is all great, making an on-line persona dedicated to getting a person fired from their job.

It's  2022, I guess I need to just get with the times.

https://www.nhl.com/player/carter-hart-8479394

Carter Hart has had 1 season below .900 sv%.

If one is to make it their hobby to advocate for a person to get fired. I would think it would be good to come correct with the stats.

But then I'm not sure I am doing modern life properly. 🤔

Yes it should in my mind - everyone should be playing, coaching, scouting and GMing know they are audtioning with their jobs on the line.

But as we know it won't be that way they already have their scapegoats in their crosshairs.

Jake was a great purge example, don't regret one second of it but more like him should been shown the door the best way possible for the club going forward.

Either by trades cuts or even buy outs.

This shat needs to end this offseason...

It's a quick turnaround. Dave and Chuck said so.

Didn't watch the game but i wish Mac would have beat this punk's ass for fighting Farebee for giving Kadri a good check which i guess he was mad about...#17 should have made him answer for this.

Punk's like this can take liberties with the skill players...WTF is Mac on the team for if he won't address this shat??

C'mon Mac do better!!!!!!

I hope you're right about the coaching.  However, Yeo is Fletcher's guy, and Chuck is the only reason he got the assistant's job in the first place.  He's a terrible coach.  But, I fear that this organization's front office doesn't agree, feel he's good enough, and use these same excuses to blame the mediocrity on instead of the coaching where the blame is deserved.  And I fear they feel the same about Kim, and also use these same excuses to justify keeping him.  And, if they are looking to replace both, it comes back to who is responsible for making the decisions on the individuals to replace them.  And, unfortunately, Fletcher and Holmgren will be a part of that decision making.

As for the prematurely aging, your fears are certainly warranted.  Exactly why competent coaching needs to be hired by this organization(not just the NHL team) instead of the incompetence of coaches like Yeo, Lappy, Dillabaugh, etc.  Unfortunately, there are many changes that need to be made for this team's mediocrity not to continue for another 3-4 years, if not more.  And those changes include those at the top making these poor decisions, not just the poor coaching.

I am good firing Kim what goaltender has improved greatly under his watch???

It seems to me they always slid in the opposite direction. New goalie coach is a good move i think Kim was Ron's guy anyways so i am sure they would be good removing him for that reason alone.

Kadri is the Avs leading scorer.  He's got 2.5 X the points Farabee has. I don't have a problem with the guy who got hit fighting the guy who hit him...that's old school. I hate when a guy throws a clean check and someone else wants to fight him. Farabee taking Kadri off the ice is a win for the Flyers. The only win that game.

@FireDillabaugh

I can admit to not knowing how best to coach the RVH technique or knowing how much ice a keeper needs to take given a situation.

In your initial post you mentioned sub .9 save %, as a reason for this person to get the axe. That turned out to not be accurate.

Another thing I find odd, is this; if my defenseman passes the puck to the opposition forward in the slot by himself, that's a tough stop no matter when it happens, so if I'm bearing down at the end of the period and this happens?  It's still 50/50 that I'm making that stop, depending on the player, the odds vary. In a situation like that the amount of focus might not matter.

If I read your post correctly, it was late, you're saying that situation can be fixed with coaching, specifically the goaltender coach.  That seems more of a team wide issue, no ?

The thing I find weird to our times is your handle on this forum says to fire a guy from his job.

That is ****ed up.

Whether he deserves it or not.

I find it weird that a section of our society thinks, yeah, I don't like what that guy's doing, get rid of him. And I'm going to create an avatar devoted to influencing others...

Kim Dillabaugh was a Hextall hire.

The Flyers poor goaltending situation pre-dates him by 20 years?

Prior to being hired by Hextall he coached Jonathan Quick, so I guess it is fair to ask if techniques have passed him by?

But it is not like he's a dilatant who lucked into a job because he knew the right guys.

The problem with the goaltenders doesn't lay squarely at his feet.

I'm not "good" with much of what's happening with this team, I know I have zero influence over those who do.

Your posts regarding poor coaching have merit as the team is performing below expectations. It has been better of late but that's like a D-  student pulling the grade up to a C...

I know trying to change a culture takes time, especially in an organization that thinks, it is doing things well.

I  also don't know if Ian Laperriere is the guy for x's and o's but I do think he may have value teaching kids how to be pros and creating a culture of accountability. That's based upon the type of pro he was.

That's not going to happen overnight, I don't know how to gauge if he's been successful in his 3/4 of season. I would think it would take more time than that.

So, how can he competently teach the techniques and other little things needed for a goaltender to be a quality NHL goaltender?

this is easy, when a person doesn't have talent, they study the techniques; they know what to do but can't do it themselves.

It's why Craig Berube is a championship coach.

It's why Hank Haney was sought out by Tiger Woods to help his game.

It's why Gretzky was a terrible coach and why Jordan is a terrible executive.

As for the personal stuff at the end of the post, if you think I hate you, you're giving yourself way too much credit.

I think an idea you have is ****ed up.

Because it is.

If it upsets you that I say this... well, think on that for a moment.
