The trade is between Los Angeles and Columbus, yet you post this in the Philly section.. -__-

Brown-Kopitar-Williams

Carter-Richards-Nolan

Penner-Stoll-King

Clifford-Fraser-RIchardson

Mhmm.. not that bad I guess

They both played for Philly last season. Why are you shocked? You don't care about Simmonds and Schenn?

If Carter and Richards unite what if they spark each other and go on a tear? They might want to stick it to everyone who tore them up over the offseason and prove the doubters wrong.

Not a bad trade. Sounds like Columbus also gets a first rounder.

I have to say, I think this is a good move by the Kings. Their line-up looks pretty good now, even without Johnson. I think they are both gonna go on a tear, whether this year or the next. They both have something to prove individually. And now that they are back together, they have something to prove together. There was talk of those two being the cornerstones to a Cup here. They were split up, because they couldn't bring the cup and had a few lapses of better judgment. On a twist of fate, they are back together and have the chance to prove the flyers made a mistake and become the cornerstone to a King's cup. We'll see what happens.

Am I the only one that would be upset that Carter got what he wanted by being a primadonna?

Considering what we got for Carter, and that his value is pretty low right now, it's a decent deal for Columbus. Betcha Johnson feels just like Carter did last year... stuck in Columbus with a 6 year contract now.

Looks like LA is trading Jack Johnson to Columbus for Carter.

Was hoping that Homer would trade for Johnson. Oh well.

Watch Carter catch fire in LA. He's gotta be the happiest man in the NHL right now.

I have never been to LA. I hope there is somewhere in LA that can be considered Old City West to satisfy the party boys!

Carter never wanted to be in columbus in the first place, Good move for the Kings, managed to keep Bernier, they can take him to Toronto for Schenn possibly, or tampa or another of the teams with wretched goaltending. Carter and Richards will push each other, just hope there is enough alchohol in California for the both of them.

They will miss Johnson, I have always felt he is Suter light, playing robin to Doughty being batman, the same way Suter does for weber. I am telling you, Bernier to the leafs for Schenn would finish this deal off perfectly. I picked the Kings to win the cup before the season and they have been worrying me but bet this gets it together for them......

The Jackets have actually put a decent defense together, while I am not a Wiz fan, he is a power play specialist and if he can stay healthy is okay on defense. Nikitin was a solid pickup, johnson is a stud, Tyutin and Methot arent going to hurt you, Aaron Johnson has found new life, and with kids like Savard and John moore getting their feet wet this year, it actually has the making of a quality defense.

I wouldnt trade Nash at this point. Offense is very weak, Johansen is gonna be a solid top six forward, Brassard is developing and they will likely add Yakupov, still too many Letestus and Gillies, the only way I would consider trading Nash is for Pavelski, Greiss and a pick or a combo thereof that gets a top six forward, a goalie and stockpiling picks.

No, unlike Carter, he was very professional about it. Johnson is actually excited to be going to Columbus, being a Mid West guy and all. He said if LA didn't want him, screw them basically. He did an interview with Sportsnet after the trade happened.

The Los Angeles Kings needed a goal scorer. The Columbus Blue Jackets simply needed a redo.

Both teams met their needs Thursday night by pulling off a major trade that sent forward Jeff Carter from Columbus to the Los Angeles Kings for defenceman Jack Johnson and a first-round draft pick in either 2012 or 2013.

If the Kings miss the playoffs this year, the Blue Jackets will get their first-round draft pick in 2013. If Los Angeles makes the playoffs, Columbus can choose either 2012 or 2013 for the pick.
