I understand now. I actually decided to take my reading skills for a spin

They have till mid night to ink the deal or they can only offer a 7 year deal like every other team tomorrow.

If JG comes to Philly, it may be because he's choosing destination over money.

I don't find it shocking he doesn't want to commit eight years to Calgary.

And given the 7 year deal the $76M may indeed be less.

But I don't see it being, say, $13M less ($9M year). More like $6M less for the "second leading scorer in the league."

That puts him smack dab in Jeff Skinner territory. 🤔

And pretty much fits the available cap space...

Happy to be wrong.

Oh yeah... of course! Thanks, rad. How could I forget?

Tender Frost (which they did), cut Lindblom (which they did), sign Gaudreau (as is speculated), LTIR Ellis.

They can just about squeeze all that into available cap space, run with 20 on the roster.

Presuming ol' JQH accepts ~$9.5M.

(Then, don't tell Occ, but they trade Sanheim to get space to add (don't tell Coach) cup winning depth forward NAK to the roster).

Easy peasy.

I don't know how reliable this guy is...

It IS still possible IF they LTIR Ellis.

Which I'm sure will never happen and they just bought out Lindblom to improve their public relations.

The Calgary Flames have reportedly offered Johnny Gaudreau a contract in excess of eight-years, $80 million.

Gaudreau scored 40 goals and 115 points in 82 contests in 2021-22, so naturally he has tons of leverage. That said, it's hard to see how Gaudreau could possibly get much more on the open market, especially given that other teams can't offer him more than seven years. If the Flames have indeed made him that kind of offer and he decides to sign elsewhere, then he'll have probably made the decision for reasons other than money.

What Torts vet is out there or will be available because we always know they have to get a pupil who isn't already on the team.

I heard that.

So what did they get trading Sanheim???

Shirley not just cap space and coaches favorite X Flyer (he will be ecstatic) Chuck will be hung at dawn.

great band ....very underrated.  However with the rise of grunge from the Seattle scene and the fact the group went through numerous lineup changes during the 1990's, they never achieved the success they had during the late 80's.

Takes me back to sophomore year in high school...

...kids these days couldn't handle what we went through in the 70's and 80s.

What if this is it. Tony D'Angelo.

What if Chuck was just misunderstood??

With if he was misquoted and just said "Aggressive tool".......

:PopcornSmiley2:

He could also be referring to Holmgren and/or Scott.🤔

Well maybe Chuckles has been foiled...he has spent his was of 2nd round picks so soon.

But he does have two 1st round picks next season burning a hole in his pocket now.

Besides if this season bombs he won't be around to use them. I think they switch to Danny B.

I guess what will one more year of JVR hurt...i don't have to watch....
