Zack MacEwen Files for Arbitration

Greetings:

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry reading this:

So, they waste money on an older, slower MacEwen version in Deslauriers, and now face arbitration with Zack under a tight cap.  Insane.

Seems this is why they brought in ND for insurance.

They can waive him for a quick 925K cap relief if they sign Zack.

Ain't no one claiming ND and his contract.

So IIRC since he chose arbitration now the team gets to elect the term and if they don't like it they can walk away and he will be free to walk.

Right now there are much bigger signings that need to take place...

Other restricted free agents that will also need new contracts from the Flyers include: Owen Tippett, Wade Allison, Jackson Cates, Hayden Hodgson, Tanner Laczynski, Isaac Ratcliffe, and Linus Hogberg.

These guys make up the future core if they even make it all. And if i am right all of these guys are waiver exempt.

So Zack might be forcing his way out of Philly and i can't blame him. ND however would make a nice on ice coach for him to learn from.

Also this guy whom i like is also the least of their worries.

OR they could have just not signed ND or Zack and got the same kind of player for 1m/1yr vs. 1.75m/4year/2yearNTC.

Yes. But that requires intelligence.

With Chuckles that is sold separately...

so if they sign Zack, they can waive ND and get 925k, in cap relief?

Yes.

Because no one is claiming him.

Buy with CF you never know what stupid move he will make.

Sandstrom is subject to waivers too.

And I'm sure if he is waived he will be claimed.

He will battle with the new goalie they signed...
