He is a good to average goalie at best who caught lighting in a bottle by winning the Stanley Cup. As evidenced above Binnington's SV% and GAA have steadily declined since the Blues won the cup. Husso (who has since moved on to greener pastures) and and the new kid are certainly finds for sure but a goalie needs to face at least 5000 shots (from a statistical POV) before we can ascertain what type goalie he is going to be. No doubt Hofer has played extremely well in his 1st few games. Going to temper the expectations for a bit. The Blues screwed themselves by giving Binnington that bloated contract.
