Vegas refuses to touch the Clarence Campbell Trophy.  Mistake?  I think so; they’ll need all the juju and Good Karma they can muster against Florida…

…who did raise the Prince of Wales Trophy, what, five nights ago?  Which contrary to shite opinion is good luck (ref. Crosby 2016, Crosby 2017, Ovechkin 2018, and perhaps more I’m unaware of.)

Well, captain Jamie Brain came back, we were expecting him to lead the way, be a factor, a leader... and nothing. At what point I was wondering if the hadn't had a longer suspension.

To be honest, Vegas was the best team, the outcome is logical. They won because they have a much deeper team and of better quality. Line 1 to 4 doesn't really matter, they are perfectly built for the playoffs and the line-up offers Cassidy lots of options. The OT loss in game #2 and especially game #3 killed the Stars' legs, after that it was only desperate games that you can't always win. They pushed it as far as they could, they can be proud of that but the two home games where they litterally **** in the fan lets a bitter taste.

Some good points, the emergence of Harley, the wake-up of Robertson, the experience gained by Öttinger and Johnston. And with Stankoven, Bourque, Bichsel and Stranges knocking on the door, the future might be good.

Still, the hole in the defense is huge. The Stars desperately need to find another good top-2 puck moving Dman to take PP duties and unload Heiskanen's workload. Suter should be the guy to get rid of as his contract is very buyout-friendly but he was ok in the postseason and DeBoer loves him. You can't already move a young guy to this kind of responsabilities yet, Lundkvist has already burnt in the BBQ and if you get someone in the free agent market, you are gonna overpay him and live with another bad contract (the Stars already have terrible deals with Benn, Seguin, Faksa and Lindell). A very tough problem to solve.
