OccamsRazor
Ok well now with TDA gone/bought out now we know closer to what the team will look like. Sure they are not set in stone and their could be more additions or subtracts but as of now this is what we can look forward to in the fresh start. Like Torts or not if it wasn't for him i don't think they would be where they are today finally blowing it up and getting Hayes and the other gone. So i am thankfully for Torts for that. Feels like they are really turning the page. Thoughts concerns complaints and cries of joy are welcome. Please share... 1

CoachX
Looking at your list, it seems to me that Seeler is the odd man on D. Is Desnoyers a sure thing? Maybe he doesn't get regular time this season. i think more moves are coming Edited July 14 by CoachX

They tried him some at center on the Phantoms not sure if they want to continue that up in the NHL. If someone ever gets moved out he could slot somewhere LW/C among the lines. CoachX
Other than Sanheim, no one is obviously overpaid. Coots and Cam are being paid based on what they did prior to injury. Is Allision a forgone conclusion? He can't seem to stay healthy. What's the Zamula situation?

Popular Post OccamsRazor
So strange to see them sit here with only 1 guy left to sign and 9.2 mill to do it with. Change has been good even if it hasn't been flawless. There will be growing pains along the way which we have seen them already learn like with the error with knowing when they could actually trade TDA. I feel had they known that then it is very well likely they might have been able to pull that trade off. Learning on the job can be painful and embarrassing at the same time. I still have faith it all is in the right hands. I feel like this group has their hands on the pulse of the fans and and good true intentions of winning us all a Cup. As time goes we will know more and hopefully be able to see their vision come together... 4

I get it and all but the concept that the Flyers paid three draft picks to get a guy for a year and then retained salary to get one prospect back has to be the most Fletchery "cap circumvention" ever. 2 1

CoachX
They are setting the stage. It seems like adding to that cap space is very easy to do. This team starts competing the right way and that pot of money sits there, waiting for that big name UFA(s) when the time is right

Gauthier and Michkov should both be on the team and contributing before they start thinking about spending big.

Buddy- man doesn't dress for months at a time, plays two weeks and winds up back on the IR. He has a good attitude and some hockey ability, but his avaliablity is non-existant. Which puts him in A-Mac's world of uselessness. He needs to play this season or it's back to the Meijer garden section for him.

If you can't stay on the ice, your value significantly decreases. I like the guy and all but you gotta be able to play. 3

No matter what they have to find the collection of players folks will want to come back out and support. Well this is a good start and if they can add two more studs next draft it feels to be changing in the right direction.
OccamsRazor
Just looking back at the teaming being build by Holmgren. That 2008-09 team had 6 25+ goal scorers on it. Carter 46 Richie 30 Gagne 34 Hartnell 30. So when the forward ranks start getting stacked i will believe they will be getting close. That team that year consisted of 19 25 or younger kids. Giroux was 21 Sbisa 19. The shepherds were Kimmo 33 Knuble 36 Metropolit 34 Breire 31 Biron 31 It all laid the ground work to get them to 2009-10. If only they had goaltending that would have held up. So when they get the right collection of kids it will start to take off. Then when they get close go for it and add the fire power. But they have a ways to go. Farm system does feel much stronger than back then was.
BobbyClarkeFan16
I love it. All this extra money is going to be crucial come the trade deadline. They'll be able to take on bad contracts and receive incredible assets in return. This is what smart GMs with a plan do. They know when they'll be able to strike. As others have said, this club is going to be better. They'll be horrible, but better. You'll see which guys are going to be the guys who stay and that's critical. Next year will be a huge year for youth. It's very possible that Gauthier, Desnoyers, Andrae and possibly Grans all make the big club. I know a lot on here like Desnoyers, but I think they're going to let him dominate down in Lehigh Valley before he gets the full call.

And lose lips sinks ships...i loved it better when no one really saw the Provy trade happening when it did. That is how it should be. But i think agents are always the biggest culprits of leaks and rumors...some false other real and some just completely drummed up i think. Danny need to resume keeping it close to the vest like with Michkov visiting. Pulled it off. Public should be a need to know basis. This is no where like combat but at the same time - it's can be just like combat training preparing and placement of your forces. Have a system in place and it will be who plays like a team the - best - within the system and while eliminating mistakes, penalites and missed scoring chances. And a good solid goalie comes in hand...especially when the defense looks suspect. Stay out the box and make them pay when they're in it. Execution critical in all stages... 1
flyer4ever
Honestly, I have no interest in next season, other than seeing how close to the bottom of the standings they will finish. There are half a dozen good prospects in the next draft, would be good to pick top 3. Then you are on a path to winning. 3 blue chippers. Still a lot of hopefuls just now. But progress is being made, it certainly appears a plan is in place. Now to stick to it, and not be hypnotized by the shiny toys for a few years yet. A few more subtractions to go, I'm hopeful a few GMs get chucktard stupid at the trade deadline next year and Danny B can parlay some cap space into draft capital.
