CreaseAndAssist Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Scoring is still a struggle there too. It's feast or famine. No one has emerged to be the workhorse, go-to scoring threat night in and out. I think they were hoping Liam Ohgren would be that guy but he's really kind of cooled off. He still gets shots, but the scoring has more or less stopped. Quote
Alexandron Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Iowa Wild GM announced that the club signed yesterday a goalie prospect William Rosseau to a 2 way AHL contract for rest of the season, and to a 1 way contract for a season 2025-26. Quote
Alexandron Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Hlavaj earns his 1st AHL shutout by stopping all 34 shots in his net by Ontario Reign team and lift Iowa Wild team to a victory with a score 5:0. Clarke and Ohgren each had 3 points in that game. Clarke 2 goals;1 assist and Ohgren had 3 assists. Probably, this is the most noticeable Iowa Wild game of this season so far. Combination of shutout with a solid score victory. Quote
CreaseAndAssist Posted January 11 Posted January 11 But last night's Iowa game was a classic example of the feast or famine thing I mentioned earlier. They get kind of a lucky goal early by Bankier...and then caught Ontario puck watching a few times in their own end and managed to convert on those rebound chances. Ohgren had 3 primary assists, mostly on shots he took and then his teammates managed to bury the rebound. Carson Lambos had a nice snipe. 1 Quote
CreaseAndAssist Posted Thursday at 01:24 PM Posted Thursday at 01:24 PM Iowa Wild won last night 7-5 over San Diego. Liam Ohgren had two goals and an assist. One of the goals was a total gift by Gulls' goaltender Oscar Dansk coughing up the puck. Brendan Gaunce had a goal and two helpers. Bankier, Haight, Raska and Marek with a goal apiece. David Spacek had 2 helpers as well. Samuel Hlavaj had 25 saves in the victory. Ohgren is just under a point-per-game with Iowa with 12 goals, 11 assists, 23 points in 25 games. Quote
Tomdog Posted Thursday at 07:19 PM Posted Thursday at 07:19 PM Ohgren, too good for Iowa, not quite ready for the NHL. I kind of wish they had sent Khusnutdov to Iowa to get his scoring touch going. Quote
Icechipper Posted Friday at 12:12 AM Posted Friday at 12:12 AM Ohgren and Guance called to St. Paul. Quote
CreaseAndAssist Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Iowa won 2-1 over Rockford tonight. Travis Boyd had a power play goal, Matt Sop with the other goal. Hlavaj with 25 saves. The NHL game still seemed to be moving pretty fast for Liam Ohgren tonight against Nashville. Quote
