BobbyClarkeFan16
Tortorella: Flyers' goaltending situation 'scares the crap out of me' https://thescore.com/nhl/news/3088791 Clearly he's concerned. It's kind of refreshing that there isn't 'team speak' with regards to him. He'll tell it like it is. I'm not a fan of his coaching style, but I certainly appreciate the honesty after years of ********. 2
CoachX
This is why he should be fired immediately. We don't need a guy who refuses to tow the company line or coddle entitled athletes. How dare he speak honestly! 1
GratefulFlyers
He's right to be concerned. As much as I like Sam Ersson, 1) his game has gone off the rails toward the end of every season, and 2) this is his debut as a starting goalie for an NHL team. Taking over for Carter Hart when Hart left is not the same as being "the man" beginning the season. Not to mention the Flyers lost a lot of games down the stretch. Obviously not all Ersson's fault - his backup was Cal Petersen enough said - but Ersson is a question mark as a starting NHL goalie.

In the same way that New Coke and the Wendy's 1/3 pounder are question marks. I have yet to see what makes him a starter.

How sad is it that we haven’t had a real goalie since 1987 (Hextall I)

My brother and and were saying how he reminded us of Pelle and how he was our goalie of the future and then the space cadet was brought in. I’ll never forget being at a game where Bryz ducked to avoid being hit with the puck only for it to be a goal. We were stunned! 1

But that $$$ no longer counts towards the cap) 2. I totally forgot about Briere being bought out in the same year….. oh the irony….

We were stunned! I watched that game with a bunch of die-hard Rangers' fans and we were all just like you, stunned (and disgusted). For like 3 months afterwards at work they'd do the Bryzgalov Duck whenever they saw me... what a mistake that guy was... and the Flyers are still paying him I believe. Do you happen to remember a clip of Bryzgalov...it was around that same time... Bobrovksy was in net and there was a TV timeout. He skates over to Bryzgalov, gets to the bench and Bryzgalov yawns - yawns right at him, mouth wide open ... then turns away.

I guess it was this one.

If he's honest, he'll come out and say he doesn't give a crap about Luchankos development, he only cares about trying to barely make the playoffs this season.

I worked at McDonalds in 1998-2000 and putting those buttered buns in the toaster made the whole kitchen smell good lol Staff used those buns no matter what sandwich we were having. I agree wholeheartedly, it’s literally been since 1987 since we really had a stopper. We have had some decent guys who may have even stolen a game or 2 along the way but never on a consistent basis like #1, #31, and 1987 #
