Lars Eller is the first domino to fall from the Penguiins going to the Caps for a 3rd in 2028 and a 5th in 2025. Good deal for both really. The Penguins get a couple of mid level lottery tickets, get out from under on a contract that goes through next year. The Capitals get one of the games best 4th line centers who has been with them before, making them deeper on the bottom six. Good deal.

The two goalies, man i think something has to be done with this. Kahkonen was a Jet, placed on waivers and claimed by Colorado. When they had no room for him and their goaltending sort of straightened itself out, he was waived back to the Jets. Reimer, same thing, he was waived by Buffalo and  claimed b y the Ducks until Gibson came back, then waived and lo and behold he went back to the Sabres. I think this happened a year or two ago with Comrie, goalies are getting waived by team one then waived back to them by team two. It just doesnt seem right.

Um yeah, first Vrana, now Eller.  Let’s put that 2018 Cup squad back together a little bit eh!

WaPo suggests Hendrix Lapierre will remain a frequent healthy scratch with Eller available; he’d lost games to journeyman Mike Sgarbossa of late, who’s now back in Hershey.

That's it? Seriously? Trade Malkin while he might still get you a 2ND rounder, wait another year you might be lucky to get a 5th rounder for him.

Letang and Karlsson have to go.

I'm not sure if I would trade Malkin. The Pens still need someone other Sid to provide some scoring. To be honest, the thought is tempting.

The playoffs are out of reach and Malkin might bring back the richest return. Not sure they would get a 1st round, but maybe a 2nd AND a prospect.
