It looks like Shesterkin versus Fedotov between the pipes, given Torts preference to rotate.  It's interesting that a quarter of the season is over and this is the first of three against NYR this year.

Flyers have got some jump to the game today, if not for IGOR it would be 5-0 by now.

Shesterkin is going to be first star whether they win or lose. It should literally be 8-0 already. I just hope the Flyers keep this play up.

Carter? I thought they had released him last season after he was charged.

Nail biter to the last minute. I would still give Shesterkin the first star. If not for him this game was over in the first period. Fedotov played absolutely solid and got lucky when Zinebadajad shanked the game tying goal. Didn’t catch the defender in the crease that deflected the pass but it saved a goal.

I only watched the last period, but it seems like a good win.  The Rags are in disarray and we are waking up.  

 

Of course, the question that some here will ask is whether winning is a good thing for this squad?  I am not in that camp but get where they are coming from.  That said, if you believe any of the rumors, half this team is being traded by the deadline. 

 

One positive is that we appear to have some depth in goaltending.  That's a plus.

I was at the game.  Forester and Brink drove the team with their hustle all game long.  There needed to be 4 stars for that game.  TK and Coots were good, too.
