Howie58 Posted Thursday at 10:04 PM Posted Thursday at 10:04 PM Greetings: The Rags are favored (-170); they have taken seven of the last eight and are 6-0 at WFC during that stretch: https://www.oddsshark.com/nhl/new-york-philadelphia-odds-november-29-2024-2298929 NY hasn't played well of late, but their 5x5 stats are good: https://www.nhl.com/gamecenter/nyr-vs-phi/2024/11/29/2024020362 It looks like Shesterkin versus Fedotov between the pipes, given Torts preference to rotate. It's interesting that a quarter of the season is over and this is the first of three against NYR this year. Quote
flyerrod Posted Friday at 01:27 PM Posted Friday at 01:27 PM I hope Shesterkin is suffering from a turkey induced hangover today…I know I am…… Quote
Podein25 Posted Friday at 06:13 PM Posted Friday at 06:13 PM Fedotov took one in the nards in warmups but looks to be OK. Whew 1 Quote
flyerrod Posted Friday at 06:15 PM Posted Friday at 06:15 PM Great hustle by Foerster and Brink to start the scoring! 3 Quote
Podein25 Posted Friday at 06:15 PM Posted Friday at 06:15 PM The Rags, to a man, look like a team of guys that want to be traded. Awful. 1 1 Quote
flyerrod Posted Friday at 06:17 PM Posted Friday at 06:17 PM Followed by TK! Good shot block and clear by Andrae to start that one. 2 Quote
Podein25 Posted Friday at 06:33 PM Posted Friday at 06:33 PM This might be one of the worst periods of hockey played by a team in recent memory. Quote

Brewin Flames Posted Friday at 06:52 PM Posted Friday at 06:52 PM Rangers playing horrid....nice to see. Flyers have got some jump to the game today, if not for IGOR it would be 5-0 by now. 2 Quote
flyerrod Posted Friday at 07:18 PM Posted Friday at 07:18 PM Shesterkin is going to be first star whether they win or lose. It should literally be 8-0 already. I just hope the Flyers keep this play up. 1 Quote

flyerrod Posted Friday at 08:38 PM Posted Friday at 08:38 PM Nail biter to the last minute. I would still give Shesterkin the first star. If not for him this game was over in the first period. Fedotov played absolutely solid and got lucky when Zinebadajad shanked the game tying goal. Didn’t catch the defender in the crease that deflected the pass but it saved a goal. 1 Quote

Howie58 Posted Friday at 09:41 PM Author Posted Friday at 09:41 PM I only watched the last period, but it seems like a good win. The Rags are in disarray and we are waking up. Of course, the question that some here will ask is whether winning is a good thing for this squad? I am not in that camp but get where they are coming from. That said, if you believe any of the rumors, half this team is being traded by the deadline. One positive is that we appear to have some depth in goaltending. That's a plus. Quote

Forester and Brink drove the team with their hustle all game long. There needed to be 4 stars for that game. TK and Coots were good, too. 1 Quote
