I still hate him. :D

I root for the Kings, er, LA Flyers. Heck, if by some minor miracle the Flyers play the Kings in the Finals, how cool would that be?

And I'd try to go to one of those games in LA for sure!

Love Carter - he netted us Cooter & Voracek!

Let him go fire pucks right into the goalie's chest in the playoffs for the Kings. (Yes, I'm still a litle bitter about game 6 of the Finals 2 years ago.)

@AndyS

Seems Richards has decided it is time to play. A shortie and a three point night. Good for him.

Everyone can say what they want to about Richards - I still think of him as the beast that single-handedly won game #5 against Montreal two years ago. One of the greatest shifts in Flyer history.

If not for Leighton wetting the bed against Chicago in game #1 & 6, we win the Cup and that's the lasting image.

I'm with you on this Andy. 100%. Richards was one of our best players over the last 7-8 years. I don't get the hate for the guy. He netted us Simmonds and Schenn. He played his heart out for the most part (and no you can't play Mike Richards playoff hockey every game of the year-that's the part a lot don't get). Ya, he took some games off...a lot less than most on the team.

@flyercanuck - I can agree with all of that and still say that I lost respect for Richards and he disappointed me. Not so much on the ice, but as Captain he could have done more to change the narrative that had emerged as the dominant one in Philly, i.e. the partying/chasing skirt stuff.

Much, even most, of it was untrue and therefore unfair. But it doesn't matter because perception is enough. And he did nothing to change the dial, change the narrative. Instead he got pouty and defensive with the press gallery. That is death for all public figures. He had choices that he could have made to change it (e.g. get all the Centre City boys to move out to the 'burbs) and he chose not to. Ultimately, he put himself and his friends (Carter) ahead of the team, or was perceived to, which is the same thing.
