InHexyWeTrust
Hard to imagine he won't be the captain next year.Actually I wouldn't want to repeat the Richards mistake. The kid's just 24. Waiting a couple years wouldn't be such a bad thing. Making Kimmo the captain until his contract expires might be a better idea, or Danny B.And I don't see the pressing need for a captain. no need to strip Pronger of it just because of his injury. mojo1917
that kid is a competitor, holy smokes. did he just insert his name into the best player in the world conversation ? he was better than crosby this series, by a lot, the only thing malkin has on him is size, he's gotta be top 3 in the league as far as talent , competitive nature all around awesomeness.he's easy to root for. Vanflyer
@OccamsRazorI think Datsyuk is a tad better defensively. Thats the only reason he goes first. That said, lets look at the love gushing out from mr tight lip: ""When the best player in the world comes up to you and says, 'I don't know who you're starting tonight, but I want that first shift,' that tells you everything you need to know about Claude Giroux," Flyers coach Peter Laviolette said."I think we all have to start to acknowledge for once that Giroux is perhaps the best hockey player in the world. I think the world of Datsyuk and begrudginly Malkin and Crosby. But Giroux brings and element that none of them have and I call it the "no quit gumption" AKA as heart. His heart is bigger than the aforementioned. He singlehandedly won this game. Where was Crosby? Stall? Even Malkin before and after his goal? There are three front runners ater the first round for the CS: Rinne, Quick and Giroux. As an aside, there needs to be HUGE props to briere. As much as G is a playoff stud as a youngin', Briere continues his legacy of a playoff stud as a veteran.

mojo1917
So on Friday at the end of the game when Orange Jesus was snapping his twig on the crossbar in the consol energy center, Pascal Dupuis hinted that maybe the Pens were in the Flyers heads... and in the case of Giroux people now know that's not such a good place to be. When I saw that Friday I thought he'd have a big game today but not start the way he did. damn that kid is good.
