DaGreatGazoo
"Right now that business sees Holmgren at the top of his game as perhaps the best GM in the NHL; and if not the best, then certainly the nerviest."WOW!
Vanflyer
@Claude MonetGreat article. Many don't like the cap management aspect to his GM repetoir, but he has many outstanding qualities. Among them and most importantly is his ability to recognize and evaluate talent (Bryz not withstanding- though that really was a Snider move). That was always clarkes downfall- not so great on the talent side of things.
JackStraw
"When the legendary Flyers captain stepped down as Philadelphia's general manager in October 2006, the Flyers offered the job to NHL senior executive Colin Campbell."Did I know this? I don't think I knew this. I'm glad I didn't know this. Edited May 1, 2012 by JackStraw
AJgoal
Jack - I concur. I will now go drill a hole in my head to expunge that information.
flyercanuck
If Campbell were Phillys gm we'd likely have nowhere near the talent we do. But we'd probably have won 2 or 3 cups. Smarmy cups.
