Video: Trying to Pinpoint Sean Couturier's Injury

The official word from the Flyers was that Sean Couturier left the game in the first period with a lower body injury. Some of the talk from the Flyers beat writers hinted at a cut to Couturier. After watching the replay below, it's tough to see. Cooter clearly gets tangled up awkwardly along the boards, but doesn't immediately react to that interaction, instead skating around a bit on defense before gingerly skating towards the bench bent over a bit seconds later. Will update more as we hear it. [

I do not see any blood; which to me makes it hard to believe it is a cut.

Also, the said during the game last night that it was a cut on the hand, but that would not explain the awkward skating to bench.

This is not good. Unless he already had a cut that reopened. .....

looks like possibly a groin? he stretched out pretty good, but it looked fairly harmless. i don't see how that could be a cut.

That's what it looked like to me too. He had no power to push off his skates.

It looks like a left knee injury to me. He was stretched out and then suddenly dropped down on his left knee. That tells me his knee *collapsed* to some extent.

That's my thought too AFF... when he buckled down to the ground, it looks like his knee gives out or something. Either way, he's probably done for a while. Not worth risking his potential to rush back when so many other things are out of synch.

Toatally what i saw looks like when he went to one knee his legs were spread when he tried to stand up maybe straining his groin.

Thats my take on it...

But if it where a knee injury I don't think he would have skated at all. As the video shows he is still trying to finish his shift. I believe it is more of groin issue. Either way he is done for the series. Tough blow for the Flyers, especially on face offs.

Might I also add, despite how pissed off we all were last night, this team has gone way above most of our pre-season expectations, especially considering we lost Pronger early on. I just wish there was a way to solve these periods of slow starts and flat footedness.

well.. they're still saying it's a leg skate cut. i just didn't see it, but that's what they're saying. he's been officially listed as 'day-to-day' and with the flyers propensity to list players as 'out indefinitely' this seems like good news. i don't think he's done for the playoffs.

Who is saying that? The only thing I've read was some twitter BS speculating it is a cut.

I'm with you, I don't see it anywhere. He was favoring his left leg, the *speculators* are saying right leg. Idiots.

Is Matt Ford an option at this point?

I say why not i know it was the minors but the kid lit it up ever since he has been accuired and he's a black ace.

They need someone anyone that is hungry and can score and you'd think he'd be an excellent choice for those reason.

Why not?

6 ft 208 good size and he can find the back of the net like he did for the Phantoms it would be a nice chance.

Holmstrom has just never impressed me and Harry Z is smaller yet faster.

Stranger things have happened.

@Spinorama

Even that video doesn't clearly show much. Hopefully not that many stitches were needed and he is able to come back on Sunday.

I haven't been in the loop much today,it was really a cut?

By that video to me it looked like he twinged something in his knee.
