trevluk Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 I am sorry but I have lost faith that this team can over come any obstacle. I got my hopes up after the Pens series that we had a special team that could over come any deficit and pull off any comeback. After watching game 6 of the first round I thought that if they continued to play their game, there wasnt a team in the league that could beat them in a 7 game series. Clearly I was wrong. God knows being a Flyers fan for 30+ years I shouldnt have gotten my hopes up but I did and now I feel foolish for thinking they were better than they are. I will still watch the games and cheer them on to make a comeback, but I have lost faith that they actually will do so. Quote
floridapaul Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Although I was happy knocking out Cindy and the Pens,I felt that no matter who we faced in the second round that we would find things much more difficult.Although the Pens were very talented offensively, they provided the Flyers with no fight defensively and it was way too easy to score on them.it was almost embarrassing to watch the swiss cheese defense they thru at us.Now we have a "team" less talented but playing as a team and a team that still has a goalie who can still win youa game or a period when needed. The intensity needed to play playoff hockey is not there for the Flyers. plus give the Devils credit as their philosophy verses us is non stop pressure and very very strong forechecking.Only way to counter is long accurate passing that puts pressure on their back line, forcing them to withdrawal all the forechecking they are doing.Look how many times we held the puck or was forced back behind our net just to reorganize and try to make an offensive push. The Devils have been nothing short of amazing all buying into this system versus us.Next serires they may play a whole different system ,but this one is surely stopping us in our tracks.
