hf101 Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Kornwall just deserves his own thread of ......"legal" hit videos. The latest victim 24 year-Latvian Kaspars Saulietis who’s never played the guy.http://youtu.be/RdKjFlfIL8Y Quote
SpikeDDS Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Guess he didn't review any film, eh? Even in the Olympics, that's not a penalty!Love the quotes, 101! Unnecessary, but make the post more fun! I think you were just trying to get me going. In all seriousness, I hope that the league includes one or more of his hits in their "legal hits" video for this upcoming season to delineate the reasons his hits are legal--that's if they do one at all. flyerrod Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Maybe he thought his name was Kasparitus.........Noone ever claimed Kronwall was a brain surgeon............. Quote
WingNut722 Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 At the risk of drawing the ire of all the Flyers fans here, do you suppose he was channeling Jakub Voracek for this hit? It's exactly the same but with different colored shirts... Quote
ruxpin Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 I don't think I see anything illegal here. Terrific check. What exactly was Kaspars looking at that he didn't see him coming? Quote

It's exactly the same but with different colored shirts...You won't get my ire. I like Kronwall. Wish he was a Flyer, actually. Quote
JackStraw Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 You won't get my ire. I like Kronwall. Wish he was a Flyer, actually.Same here. In fact, I'd bet that every Flyers fan would love Kronwall if he played for the Flyers. Quote
Podein25 Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 @WingNut722I hope you have learned that you gotta get up before breakfast to get the ire of @JackStraw or @ruxpinI, on the other, am full of ire, pretty much all the time. Quote

hf101 Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 @WingNut722Since you mentioned it; It's exactly the same but with different colored shirts... Quote
hf101 Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 @SpikeDDSI thought we should put videos all of Kronwalls's best work in one thread. B) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mm_sxJ4Z--Y......and btw, I was inspired by the profile from one of our newest members from Sweden. Quote

OccamsRazor Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Same here. In fact, I'd bet that every Flyers fan would love Kronwall if he played for the Flyers.Yeah then he'd get suspended for all of them hits in orange and black... Quote
SpikeDDS Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 At the risk of drawing the ire of all the Flyers fans here, do you suppose he was channeling Jakub Voracek for this hit? It's exactly the same but with different colored shirts... Except, thankfully, no fencing response. I don't care how clean his hits are, even I don't care to see injuries result from them. Bell rung? Maybe. But not serious injury. No one wants that. 4min for roughing, lol That WAS ridiculous! Kronwall Hits Havlat - Wings at Blackhawks Game 3 - May 22 09 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KJm-qcnnC0 So was the penalty call for "interference." Puck in Havlat's feet? LOL! Quote
SpikeDDS Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 @OccamsRazorUnfortunately, I think you are right that he would get called for more in a Flyers sweater. Not all of them, mind you, but some. Quote
WingNut722 Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 @hf101 Thanks for vids. I remember that Havlat hit. HUGE! This has been marketed in the Detroit area ever since. I have a print myself, framed. Quote
WingNut722 Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 @Podein25Hey Pods, keep your ire to yourself, yeah? It's not likeI hit Voracek? :-) Quote
Podein25 Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 @WingNut722Lol, ok. And for the record, I too would like to see Kronwall in O&B. Quote
WingNut722 Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 @Podein25I think he's coming into a contract year. Now may be the time for Homer to put together an offer package. I'll give him your recommendation. Quote
Vanflyer Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 @ruxpin- I just don't like the fact that he is leaving his feet. He has mastered his technique for sure, but 8 out of 10 of these hits he is thrusting his legs and propelling his body upward into the opposing player. I know I would undoubtedly not mind him as a Flyer at all. Just as I did not mind Lindros as a Flyer (when he was at his nasty best). My beef is that Kronwall never answers the bell for these hits (unlike lindros). That's part because of the instigator rule and part just because he is a plan p u s s y outside of these hard hits. 1 Quote
Vanflyer Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 @WingNut722"I think he's coming into a contract year." Surely you jest since he is signed for the rest of the decade!! Quote

Vanflyer Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 @JackStrawInteresting that he was such a late bloomer to the NHL. That said, I am not sure I like the contract he signed with detroit. He is basically signed until he is 39. Prior to the last two seasons, He was injured for 20% of the time. Still, a player you love to have on your team and hate on the other team. Quote

I guess they're hoping he'll last as long as Lidstrom, which I doubt. Still, he's got a bunch of good years ahead of him. Quote
