Sunday update

http://www.csnphilly.com/blog/flyers-talk/post/Flyers-injury-update-Giroux-Bryz-Pronger?blockID=610086&feedID=704

"With fingers crossed.

That's how the Flyers go into this coming week as Claude Giroux and Ilya Bryzgalov both recover from injuries incurred in Saturday's 5-2 win over Tampa Bay.

General manager Paul Holmgren said that Giroux "felt better" today after being kneed in the head by Wayne Simmonds during a freak second period play on Saturday. The Flyers are watching for a concussion there.

Giroux will be re-evaluated on Monday.

Bryzgalov incurred what appeared to be a right thigh injury and was doing "much better" and is expected to be available for Tuesday's game in Washington.

Lastly, Erik Gustafsson, recovering from a broken wrist, will be begin rehab this week and skating. He is still about two weeks away from playing. The Flyers desperately need to get Gustafsson back as they have no defensive depth right now with Chris Pronger out indefinitely with an apparent eye concussion.

Pronger will be re-evaluated Monday in Pittsburgh by concussion specialist Joseph Maroon."

My problem believing anything is this: Pronger had a virus? OK, tell us if he has runny nose and can't breath through it. A sore throat and can't yell at Bob in Russian. But, nooooo.... he has a "virus" that the main symtom is a headache? Hmmm... First thing to check might be to ask yourself : "did he recently get his eyeball almost whacked out of hid head"? Might be a starting point!!!!!!! I trust nothing until I see the player back on the ice and even then it's tough. Look at Crosby's re-injury... I'll hope for the best with Giroux and Schenn but I'll believe nothing....

I wonder if the way the injury is reported has something to do with things. Saying he has a virus allows flexibility on how he can be treated. Saying he has concussion like symptoms requires specific medical responses

My feeling on this is that it's karma. Some of are d-bag brothers have been making light of Cindy's injury and now it's coming back two fold with Giroux and Pronger.

Lindros and Primeau far predate Crosby.

If it's a karma thing, it dates to long before now...

In all fairness, Pronger could have had some cold symptoms initially. But as those symptoms disappeared, the headaches, dizziness remained. And as the doctors thought they could be concussion-like.......they decided to shut him down then having the knee surgery at the same time makes a ton of sense.
