jammer2 Posted August 14, 2012 Share Posted August 14, 2012 @Polaris922 I don't overvalue Briere, was just tossing his name in the ring cause they need a center. I realize it would take a lot more than Danny to secure a young stud like Yandle. Was not even suggesting he was anywhere close to the same value. If it sounded that way, I didn't mean it to. Having said all that, I don't think he is declining as much as people think. Last year was a fluke, I can see him scoring 35 goals 30 assists next year with not much of a problem. His real value is playoff time, 108 points in 109 playoff games pretty much says it all. He brings it LARGE when it matters most, showing kids how to win in the playoffs is super valuable. Danny went LONG stretches with no goals last year, he's to talented to have that happen again, he's only 1 year removed from a 34 goal season. JackStraw Posted August 14, 2012 Share Posted August 14, 2012 @jammer2 - I'm sure that a big part of the decline in Briere's production last season was due to the fact that Giroux replaced him on the top scoring line. It had to happen sooner or later, given the right line mates I'm sure Briere can still put up good numbers. That said, I don't see the Flyers trading him, or him agreeing to a trade.
