jammer2
At least he lived a nice long life. Met him a few times at Spitfire games, really nice old guy, always smiling and very proud of his NHL Grandkids Kyle and Eric. Harold Wellwood had his 91st birthday celebration on Sunday and died in his sleep on Thursday. God bless the family in this rough time. The Wellwood live 5 minutes outside of Windsor in the little town of Oldcastle, Ontario. He will be missed by many. http://blogs.windsorstar.com/2012/08/24/harold-wellwood-beloved-father-grandfather-and-great-grandfather-dies-at-91/
flyercanuck
@jammer2 When I first saw the title i thought it was a bit much posting this on a Flyer forum. Then I realized you posted it and respect where you're coming from.
jammer2
@flyercanuck Even I thought it was a bit much, but there is a personal connection for me, having met the ol' guy and all.
jammer2
Apparently, it was relevant enough to be the lead story in Metzlers blog today... http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/Bill-Meltzer/Meltzers-Musings-Wellwood-condolences-Flyer-Landmarks-Meet-the-LCB-Line/45/46255
