OccamsRazor 9,982
This site should carry all AHL games for free once they start up.... Heeter named CCM/AHL Player of the Week SPRINGFIELD, Mass. ... The American Hockey League announced today that Adirondack Phantoms goaltender Cal Heeter has been selected as the CCM/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Jan. 5, 2014. Heeter won all three of his starts and recorded two shutouts last week, allowing just one goal on 87 shots for a 0.33 goals-against average and a .989 save percentage. In a New Year’s Eve tilt on Tuesday night, Heeter made 24 saves as Adirondack edged Worcester, 2-1. Then on Friday, Heeter’s 29-save shutout helped the Phantoms to a 1-0 overtime victory over Hershey. And on Saturday, Heeter stopped all 33 shots he faced and was named the game’s first star for the third match in a row as Adirondack blanked Albany, 4-0. In 23 appearances this season, Heeter (13-10-0), leads the AHL with a .932 save percentage, is tied for the league lead with four shutouts and ranks second with a 2.03 goals-against average. The second-year pro out of Ohio State University has gone 25-26-3 in 55 career AHL outings with the Phantoms. A native of St. Louis, Mo., Heeter signed as a free agent with the Philadelphia Flyers on Mar. 6, 2012. In recognition of his achievement, Heeter will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Phantoms home game. http://theahl.com/heeter-named-ccm-ahl-player-of-the-week-p189630 Some good news down on the farm....he and Stolarz next year will make a hell of a tandem next year for them. Along with Laughton, Leier Larsson and even maybe just maybe Ghost... Phantoms are currently the 8th seed...with 2 games in hand on the 7th seed.
