Polaris922 Posted January 27, 2013 Share Posted January 27, 2013 I've figured out what the Pens are doing wrong... They're playing the second period. Honestly I think they're guilty of being cocky and taking a win for granted these past two games. Against Toronto they looked sloppy, so they came out last night in Winnipeg hell bent for a win. Problem is, they came out to start the second up by two and just seemed to coast from there. Kunitz had a rough outing with his errant passing, and a couple non-calls seemed to frustrate Malkin, but they just flat out go out worked from there. I'm not used to seeing that from this team when Crosby is in the lineup. Every team seems to go through tough spurts, but that just looked like a general lack of effort until it was too late. Will two losses now wake them up against Ottawa? I'd have thought losing to the Leafs would've done that. Maybe there's just some rust there to sort out. Dear Lord we're 3 points out of first place!! Philly and the rangers aren't exactly tearing it up (OK,Philly did last night against a bad team) How'd Scheifele look?
