B21
Oh why not...Niskanen out. 2-4 weeks per Bylsma. Depres likely taking Niskanen's spot on the PP.
Digityman
Should be a good game. The Islanders are getting better and it's making the Atlantic much harder than it already was. All 5 teams will be in the playoff hunt for the next few years.
hf101
@B21The Islanders have had the Penguins number as of late. Always entertaining.Feel free to join us in game chat. More than one game can be discussed at one time.
hf101
The Pens remain the only Eastern Conference team yet to win at home.
Polaris922
Well that was a lackluster performance... but hey, long way to go.
B21
@Polaris922Well that sucked. Good thing the Rangers game tomorrow is in NYC. Or maybe not.Still, no time to panic.
jammer2
@Polaris922 I think you guys are missing Jordan Stall a bit more than you thought you would. I'm sure Sutter's game will grow/evolve, but at this point, he's no where near the player Jordan was. The physicality, skating and nice mix of toughness and skill is just not there yet. It will be a few years before we can declare a winner in this deal, but the early returns (as expected) is a win for Carolina.

He's played well defensively and over 50% on his face offs. I wanted a defensive center so I'm glad for the trade. Staal will always be better in offense but his defense continue to suffer in Carolina (-2) despite having 5 assists. Honestly I think we'd be worse off if he were still here, simply because Sutter has played well defensively. The Pens don't have their game yet, and until conditioning improves that won't change. I'd guess Staal would be slow too but worse in that he'd be slow AND lazy on defense!
jammer2
@Polaris922 Just seems that Stall is a lot more physical, which is a big part of defense....but Sutter is no slouch either. Time will tell which side wins, but to be fair, we'd have to wait a few years for Sutter to mature.
B21
@jammer2@Polaris922I think the biggest concern is the PP which means we miss Steve Sullivan more than anyone right now.
