Anyone get the feeling

that something isn't right with Giroux?

He hasn't looked this lost in his entire tenure with the Flyers.

I can't help but think that "neck" injury in Germany is affecting him.

Seems like he is avoiding contact, is slow to get into plays, and generally doesn't have that "magic" that we got used to seeing with him last year.

You may hate the comparison, but when Crosby first tried to return from his concussion before they diagnosed his soft tissue neck injury, he was in a very similar place...

Just commenting on how the injury can affect a skill player not a comparison of the players or wearing the captaincy!

I agree. Wasn't commenting either about him wearing the "C". I was agreeing with you. I was jut curious if Roo saw the same specialist as Crosby?

G is being game planned for now, more than ever.

I agree - but even when he is off the puck he isn't hustling the same. Plus he isn't checking anyone. The game planning is hurting his numbers, but the other aspects of his game appear to be lacking as well.

The loss of Hartnell hasn't helped. I think when Giroux starts checking guy's you'll know he's back. Not sure if his wrist is still hurting as well

Besides G not noticeably taking the body, he's a still pretty effective checker. He dove and stopped Ovechkin's slam dunk empty netter which had about 25 seconds left on the clock. If we would have tied the game, everyone would have been talking about his hustle. He also made a few good plays in front of his own net I think last game against Wash. He broke up a pass for a sure goal.

I'm happy he's at least being effective defensively while he's slumping up front. Also, we can't discount Jagr's departure as a cause for G's dropoff. Take away his two linemates, and this is what we have...so far. I just hope he still isn't hurting, but it would make sense.
