Jmdodgesrt4
Like I said they supposedly talked about a trade. I would figure there would be something else going along with Laughton. I don't like the trade at all at this point. I say ride it out and see what happens , lottery pick or playoffs.
doom88
Knowing Homer, it involves sending a 2nd rounder away.
ZeZel25
I'm not arguing the kid MAY turn into something in the future. I'm saying there's no way he's worth anything near Iginla right now. He has yet to prove he's even NHL material, let alone equal value of a guy like Iginla. Iginla may be old, but he's everything you used to describe Laughton PLUS a proven veteran PLUS he hasn't scored less than 30 goals since 2001, including two 40+ and two 50+ seasons. Honestly to even think Laughton comes close is Ludicrous. Now if you were to say Couturier and Laughton it becomes improbable but at least arguable. Not straight up though. An aged high salaried player decreases his value, period! While Laughton is raw, he's under a good contract and has more than a year or two left in him, Which gives him value. As far as this, Show me who's noticed him, just read some intelligent hockey talk around the league. If your suggesting trading Couturier and Laughton for Iginla value wise, well that's just insane! Again, an aged, high priced veteran for 2 up and coming talents, with great contracts isn't happening with the flyers! Richards and Carter, 2 young and talented guy's, were traded from here for what, All young guy's and picks

He's played a couple of NHL games doing next to nothing in them but playing hard. I don't care how young he is, he's no centerpiece in a trade for a guy like Iginla. You guys are drinking that river water if you think this unproven prospect is worth a 30+ goal scorer who is heart and soul on his team and hasn't slowed down yet.
