TedZep
That's as many as Howe got in his whole career!
Poulin20
Maybe they should change the name to a Wayne Simmonds hat trick.
Phillygrump
One more and I guess they re-name it the Wayne Simmonds hat trick?

jammer2
@TedZep I find it really hard to belive this, but I have read Gordie *never* recorded a Gordie Howe hat trick.....I don't believe it....but I read it somewhere.
Spinorama
@TedZep I find it really hard to belive this, but I have read Gordie *never* recorded a Gordie Howe hat trick.....I don't believe it....but I read it somewhere.I had just heard during a game's broadcast (can't remember the game) the announcer's talking about the GH hattrick and they even commented on it's funny how it came to be and he hadn't even had that many. Turns out he had two. Here's a little interesting article on the subject I just dug up. It's a quick read.http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=514973
jammer2
@Spinorama Thanks for that, answered a lot of questions I had. Amazing, I would have never ever guessed Gordie only had only 22 NHL fights. Wow, that seems ultra low, but he was mostly about the elbows and other physical ways to punish opponents.
brelic
Simmonds is having a monster start to the season. He's been awesome. And how about Jake with 10 points in 4 games? He should be first star of the week.
TedZep
@SpinoramaNice find. But now I miss Laperriere. Simmonds already has way more fights than Howe, but he's probably a more than a few points behind compared to Howe at 25yo.
