steve7311
I have to tickets to go watch this crap in Raleigh in 2 weeks. I wish that they would just play all the youngsters so we can see what kind of future they have with this team.
hf101
@steve7311What youngsters?
steve7311
This this team keeps playing like this why not bring up some of the kids from the Phantoms.
hf101
This this team keeps playing like this why not bring up some of the kids from the Phantoms.Keep in mind you can only have a healthy 23 man roster, there are not that many spots available. Many of the phantoms have AHL contracts only. The Phantoms are basically in last place in the AHL East, they have stunk all season. So who would you like to see play that can? doom88
Lauridsen and Gus are already up, and Bourdon and Wellwood are hurt. Nasty injury bug. Would be nice to see McGinn in there more. Maybe recall Manning?
Mad Dog
@steve7311Yes, this team *is* crap, or to put it more accurately, the defense and goaltending is crap. The season is winding down and you JUST noticed it? This has been a known, proven, well-documented fact since the training camp commenced. flyercanuck
@steve7311 The farm team is in worse shape than the Flyers. So basically, what you see is what you get. Hopefully some of the guys who want us to make the playoffs will take this into consideration. A top 5 pick isn't a luxury, it's a necessity. Samifan
I saw the Phantoms play a couple of weeks ago and Manning was a healthy scratch. He was a whopping minus -27 on the season and has found his way into Murray's doghouse. At this point i think anyone worth two-bits from the phantoms is already been called up (minus Wellwood's current injury).I would like to see Snider/Homer/Lavi conceed the season and actually call up Cal Heeter to see if he is a potential NHL goaltender
AndyS
Bump.If they can't beat NYI when their season is on the line, that just about says it all.Time to clean house.Homer & Lavy both need to go. I like Lavy a lot, but it seems pretty clear that no one is listening. It's one thing to have injuries and a banged-up defense, but they just weren't skating. Total lack of effort.I can live with the losses, I can live with young players having some growing pains. But lack of effort? Just no excuse for that.

Bertmega
When I saw the title I immediately thought of this sound bite.http://www.audiomicro.com/tracks/dialog/659230
mojo1917
@toughfighter83terry murray is a pretty good coach, in fact if Lavy gets canned, he's probably next in line. pretty good guy with young players, prefers a sound defensive style, that the farm is a mess isn't on the coach, he's good. the farm is a mess because the owner and GM aren't patient and place a low value on draft picks.

And he teaches a pretty solid defensive system, if memory serves. He is one of the few bright spots down in the Flyers AHL team. And he'd be a pretty good choice to coach the Flyers if Lavy gets canned. The bad news is that he is basically the NHL version of Del Harris (NBA). He can help settle things down & build toward success, but usually someone else comes in afterward to finish the job & win the title. Phlyer1
Naming Giroux the best player in the world was not a good thing evidently. The young guys who played so good last year have dwindled down to Voracek and Symonds not sure what happened to all those sophmores. Much of the D are Limpions The O is silent LOL> For all those exited about having a better pick in the draft remember most of our previous picks have gone by the boards. So I can't get too excited about that. Edited April 10, 2013 by Phlyer1
flyercanuck
@toughfighter83 Homers drafting isn't as bad as his penchant for trading picks away for old or useless players.

toughfighter83
another problem is on 5-5 they just look slow they cant create odd man rushes plus when they get it into the zone they just shoot it from the outside and not the middle of the ice when they get it to the defense or they just pass around and not shoot it when they are in the middle of the ice. OccamsRazor
Keep in mind you can only have a healthy 23 man roster, there are not that many spots available.I thought that was lifted after the trade deadline?Besides the D is half Phantoms now....more than that once you realize Gervais talent level...and Schenn is only 23. They are young... Edited April 11, 2013 by OccamsRazor
