TedZep
I will never cheer for a team over the Flyers. Ever.Looking at the standings and seeing them closer to selecting the "Next Annointed One" didn't help me feel better in the least. I just can't do it. Obviously that is subjective and surely you would think it would take most of them a year or two at least to get there feet, but this is a draft that hopefully eases the pain of a terrible season that shouldnt have ever been played in the first place. TimKerrFan12
Saturday night was good to the Flyers when it comes to getting a higher draft pick. I like to think I am more of a fan, to sacrifice my happiness and what I have always known to cheer against the Flyers. I am making the ultimate sacrifice for the benefit of the Flyers long-term. flyercanuck
@TedZep You have to look at it properly. Getting a player that will help the team for a long time beats the heck out of just missing the playoffs.
jammer2
@TimKerrFan12 " I am making the ultimate sacrifice for the benefit of the Flyers long-term." Exactly....I don't know why everyone would not be on board with this line of thinking. It's not being a traitor, it's thinking what is best for the team long term!
TedZep
@flyercanuckIt's not about how I "thinks" it's about how I "feels."

New and improved durability of course. But we're not talking guys of that level.
flyercanuck
@doom88 No not at all. Those are generational talents, these are more gamebreakers.
jammer2
@doom88 I would not discount any of the top 3 as a generational talent. Rare for 3 to come in one year, but in this case, I think it's true. Both the forwards have a real chance to lead the league in goal scoring and Jones is compared to Larry Robinson, don't think you get compared to a guy like that unless you are something really special. Polaris922
Oooh I stand corrected. I forgot they opened it up to all teams out of the playoffs not just bottom four. You got me. I'll blame it on Donald Duck this week.

Polaris922
Lol what?I'm sweating my pucks off in Florida and not sure which part I've confused here. As it stands you guys are 9th from the bottom of the league right? So the lottery gives you a 2.7% chance at number one. I was saying the winning is removing you guys from a top three pick because if you don't win the lottery you end up 9th or 10th as it stands right now. Hence my comment about your winning is hurting you. But you are absolutely right that if you win that lottery it doesn't matter, you get the pick you want.I hope I translated my thoughts better this time. I'm in the hotel with time to type rather than waiting in line at one of the Disney parks. Edited April 18, 2013 by Polaris922
doom88
Ah, didn't know you were at Disney. That explains the Donald Duck.
