Jam1986
The D men they have going before 11 is Jones ,Nurse and Pulock. At 11 they have Hagg {who knows about him}?, Muller,Zadorov,Moorrissey,Morin all before Rustolainen. Wow most people have Rusolainen going to Flyers so how our these guys rate head of him in HN! They do it with scouts like other mock Drafts. Would you go all d in draft? My second pick if still there I would draft a goalie Comrie or Jarry we need one. Up front Comhier,Donclair or Fasching one of them will be nice. Also seems like most players are 1 to 2 yrs away fron NHL if this is the case trade back 1 or 2 spots for another second. flyercanuck
@Jam1986Everybody has a different idea who will go where in the draft. We won't know until the #11 pick comes down who we'll get. I think someone gets Nichushkin lower than he should go, but doubt he falls to us. We should get a decent prospect. Jarry is a good choice for the 2nd round. He's been playing on a really good team with a great mentor. He's not playing much in the playoffs, but that's more to do with a veteran partner than his play. Whether it's a later pick or as a FA they'd better look at Neiderberger. Edited May 4, 2013 by flyercanuck
Mario99
YouTube Alexander Wennberg from WJC last year he was not top six forward but looks like a great pick at 11 I don't like any of the Defensemen other than Seth Jones, but not worth trading up for, another name is Anthony Mantha QMJHL scored 50 goals
flyercanuck
@Mario99 You don't like any of the defencemen other than Jones? You get to see a lot of Soo Greyhounds or the Wheat Kings or TPS in Bama? If Wennberg was a way better prospect than Pulock or Ristolainen or even Zadorov, I could see your point. But they're basically on the same level, and we need another center like we need a hole in the head. We do need defecnemen though,.. desperately. Dynamo 47
I go defense and take the best one available at 11. There should be several decent ones to choose from but I would hope for Nikita or Risto. I like them both and think they would eventually be top 4 material.I actually think we are good goalie wise. We have our 3rd round pick from last season, Anthony Stolarz. He is a Hextall size kid who plays a butterfly style and left college hockey and went to the "O" where he went to the London Knights and played outstanding. If we had a goalie of the future it will be himGAA under 2.30, Save Percentage - over 92% both seasons with the Knights. 2012-13 London Knights OHL 20 3 2 1153 44 2 1 2.29 13 3 2 508 0.920 2012-13p London Knights OHL 16 2 0 995 37 1 1 2.23 13 2 1 519 0.933
flyercanuck
@Dynamo 47 I've watched Stolarz closely in the OHL finals and all I see is a big goalie. His puckhandling is brutal, he's slow (he's 6'5"ish? and may need to catch up to his size) He looked terrible last night where everytime Barrie scored I'd turn to my buddies and say"Ya, that's Phillys goalie of the future". Put it this way, the series is 2-1 Barrie, swap goalies and London is up 3-0. Neiderberger has been outstanding and should win MVP of the playoffs whether Barrie wins or not. I hope the Flyers have a scout at these games, he'd HAVE to notice Neiderberger.

Are his stats misleading simply because of the system or the D in front of him because the save % and GAA are very impressive.
flyercanuck
@Dynamo 47 His team is stacked. The Hunters do a great job (whether it's all legal or not is another thing) of acquiring talent. The only way to beat them is to have your goalie stand on his head. They play a relentless game and sure seem to get the calls in their favour. Plymouths coach was fined for saying the calls were one way in their series against London, and I can't say I blame him. We counted 5 offsides against the Knights that went uncalled. I mean clear offsides. The crowd was chanting "We want a ref" through quite a bit of the game last night, and we were winning. Stolarz might look better in a few years when he doesn't look so lanky and uncoordinated. I'm trying to see that in him but watching him play reminds me so much of what we already have in Philly. He mishandles the puck pretty much everytime he touches it. Maybe he's nervous about being in the OHL final, I don't know. Meanwhile I watch the Colts goalie make unstoppable glove saves, acrobatic splits, up, down, up in a second, reflexes like a cat. He doesn't have Stolarz' size, but I'll take him in net all day every day over the guy at the other end.

I guess I was just impressed with him leaving college hockey and jumping right into the "O" and putting up some darn good numbers.Hopefully with time and coaching his coordination and reflexes will improve. OccamsRazor
Whether it's a later pick or as a FA they'd better look at Neiderberger.I agree Flyers need to scoop him up don't have awhole lot of solid prospects in net....he looks to be a solid one...Homer get on it. flyercanuck
@Dynamo 47 I'll say this for him though...he was good enough to steal the job from their other goalie. And I can't imagine what it's like to be 6'5" at that age. I mean it's gotta take some time to get used to right? I think the guy has a shot at being an NHL goalie. But Neiderberger is making saves he has no right to be making, and Stolarz is letting in one or two he'd like back.
