jammer2
I'm outraged there is no coverage of this tourny. What a missed opportunity by TSN, Sportnet etc. In the middle of the summer our very best under 18 year olds and it's not on tv!?!? Not even radio?!?! The best we get is a web-site that will post live updates....pffft, this sucks!!! Hockey starved fans would have watched this tourny in droves. Barrie Colt's d-man Arron Exblad has been named the team captain. http://philandrews18.blogspot.ca/2013/08/ivan-hlinka-memorial-tournament-opens.html

yave1964
Ivan Hlinka was one heck of a hockey mind respected and loved by his peers. Only a two year nhl career due to the cold war but he became the second European coach to coach in the nhl. Tragic auto wreck took him away too young. jammer2
It's good for the kids to have adversity. A tough loss will only help them.

jammer2
Canada and the USA advance to the finals in the Ivan Helenka tourny. Canada beat the Russians to reach the final, while the USA took out the Czech's. Should be a dandy of a final!http://www.tsn.ca/ca...tory/?id=429468

flyercanuck
@jammer2Ekblad and Lemieux (Claudes son) both scored and are both Barrie Colts!
jammer2
@flyercanuck You must be really proud of those kids. That's a big thing to win Gold in this tourny. It starts the process of them being tagged "winners" which is a huge thing for confidence and continued success. Question, is it fair to say the Brendan skates better than the ol man? Claude was no slouch in the skating dept, he got where he needed to go, but just wondered how the kid compares? I guess you're first round pick Kriese was a late cut from this team, regardless, he sounds like he is gonna fill the net, lot's of promise there. Ford is one of the best GM's on the planet.
