Mario99 Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 drafted in 2010, 2nd round by Columbus, in pre draft rankings he was considered first roundtalent and was injured in 2010-2011 fell out of favor with Blue Jackets and signed by Homer as unsigned Draftee, Straka also had several teams after him in April 2013 but chose Flyers.I think could be a sleeper by homer, says he will be on Phantoms but will come to camp next month to win a job with big club, we need guys who have offensive talent pretty big 6-1 195 lbs still only 21 years old, thing I like about him is that he wanted to play in Canada to get better and accustomed to N. American style of hockey,Anyone know have more on him and do you see him on the Flyers opening night? Quote
Jmdodgesrt4 Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 To be honest I don't see any roster spots open for a forward. On defense I can see a chance of a younger player taking a spot other then Gus. Quote
TarHeelFlyer Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 IMO, Straka has ZERO chance to make the big club this year, but with us having a couple of UFA spots potentially opening up....including Matt Read....I could see him sneaking onto the roster next year...maybe. Quote

Back in columbia, s.c. now. Are you ready for you're beat down on the 29th...Clowney is licking his chops!!!!!!Ha ha not even sure you're a college football fan just have some good ribbing and looking forward to kickoff! Quote
TarHeelFlyer Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Occams Razor...When it comes to injuries in the preseason, I think the Flyers hope to get through it uninjured, but if not, I think Gagne is on speed dial.I live in Charlotte, so we aren't too far away from each other. I actually just had a friend relocate there to teach at Columbia International University. My company also has an office in Columbia and some of my sold installs get done by guys from that area. I actually love the Charlotte area.Strangely enough, as much as I love NCAA Football, I could care less about the Tarheels. I know sounds weird based on the name, but it was more a reference to the state I live in than the University. My wife's parents are huge UNC fans, but not me...In fact, I get in trouble with the wife when I say I would love my kids to go to Duke. My team choices are really strange. Indiana U....College BBall.Penn State....College FootballSteelers....NFLReds...MLBFlyers....NHLIt all makes sense if you knew the logic, but many people look at me like I have 3 heads. Quote
