hf101
“We’re just gonna hold him off at least for today anyway,” Flyers GM Paul Holmgren said. “We’ll see how he is tomorrow.”Bourdon told the Courier-Post about a month ago that he was still having symptoms, mostly eye sensitivity stemming from discomfort in his neck. He also wears a tinted visor to reduce light sensitivity.“Everyone is pretty positive I can start the season, but there is no way to say for sure,” Bourdon said August 14. “I’ve been feeling pretty good. We’ll see.”That goal seems to be in jeopardy since he was kept from the ice on the first day of training camp. Holmgren said that what Bourdon needed most was game action, but practices need to come first. Last week, Bourdon was out there. Now the Flyers are holding him back. source

Lunatic
Possible Post Concussive Syndrome? Not Good. I hope for his sake that they hold him out until well-after all symptoms are resolved. He sill has a long life ahead of him.
Flyskippy
This stinks. MAB is a kid who looked on the brink of being a solid everyday d-man.
jammer2
I loved the snarl in MAB's game, looked like he was progressing on offense also, real nice shot from the point. Can't believe this kid is 24, where does the time go?
doom88
Probably precautionary, to make sure that he feels fine and fully recovers.
TarHeelFlyer
If we have to LTIR him, it will make things even more interesting getting under the cap prior to the start of the year.
AlaskaFlyerFan
Bourdon to the LTIRFlyers chairman Ed Snider said Friday afternoon that defenseman Marc-Andre Bourdon (post-concussion syndrome) will start the year on the long-term injured reserve along with Chris Pronger.Bourdon (post-concussion syndrome) did not skate and sources say he may not skate at all in training camp.General manager Paul Holmgren said earlier Friday the defenseman is day to day. It's entirely possible that Bourdon is experiencing the same anxiety that Andrej Meszaros experienced last season about being on the ice and potentially getting injured again. ZeZel25
source In all seriousness, the kid should retire now! He has 2 guy's close to the team he can take a good look at with concussion issues. Pronger and Primeau
