yave1964
Mike Danton is continuing his career in Europe, released by the Beibarys Atyrau club in the top league in Kazakhstan, he has signed with Mol Liga of the top league in Hungary. Whatever your thoughts may be on this man, and I am not going to get into the whole mess in here that ruined his career and put him in prison it is amazing to me that after five lost seasons, most of the time spent in prison that he has been able to continue his career at all. Playing in Austria, in Hungary, Kazakhstan, and Slovakia is sure as hell a far sight from playing for the Devils or the Blues as he did a decade ago. But he is seeing the world, is an upstanding citizen and making roughly a couple hundred grand a year to play a kids game. This is not the NHL or the AHL, it is not even the Swedish Elite league or the KHL even, it is the lower levels of European hockey, he is on his sixth team in three years in four countries, but my hat is off to him, after what he went through with hiring a hit man to kill his agent, the POS David Frost, or possibly his father depending upon which version you believe, serving his 63 months in prison and still kicking I wish him nothing but the best. I have read a few interviews of his over the past several years and he seems to get stranger every time he speaks, but after what he has faced he deserves at least a pass for part of it. I wish him well on his European tour, seeing places and things most of us would kill to see, and getting paid pretty dang well in the process. I don't know what league would be below the league in Hungary but my money is on Danton finding out either by the end of this year o with certainty next year. This strange troubled man who was used and exploited by a human in name only and had as bad of a family life as can be imagined, I am hoping he continues on the good path that he is on. bunnyman
I'm rooting for him, despite the weird, weird sh** he has gone through.
flyercanuck
What a nightmare. Good for him he's back playing hockey, wherever it is. On a side note, Sheldon Keefe has the Greyhounds sitting in 1st in the west.
