blocker
Ted Nolan is an ideal choice for the coach of the Sabres. This collection of third-rate veterans and promising youngsters need the support of an advocate coach. Pat LaFontaine picked the right guy.
TropicalFruitGirl26
I'd have to agree...Now all the Sabres need to do is get the RIGHT collection of veterans to help change the culture of not only the locker room, but also, how the team is perceived by the rest of the league. Sabres should (and probably will) unload whatever vets they have that have value at the trade deadline, see what their young players can do the rest of the year, THEN make some smart signings in the off season regarding vets who don't mind being part of a program that is helping to build a good, solid young foundation. All with Nolan leading the way on this behind the bench. Edited December 14, 2013 by TropicalFruitGirl26
ruxpin
I don't know how Scott could possibly be a question mark. No one but Reiger and Scott's mom actually think he's a hockey player. He isn't. He's a felon on skates. Talk about utterly worthless. And really disagree that every team needs an enforcer. There are a few Flyer fans on this board that would absolutely agree with the "every team needs an enforcer" sentiment, but they would be wrong. The problem is that they don't own a calendar and haven't seemed to notice that none of the recent Cup winners have one. Leave the goons home to murder their neighbors and let the hockey players play hockey.

Sad thing is that few of their vets have much value in the trade market. I hope Sabres stick with a sensible plan of replacing vets with eager youngsters, and not resort to a selloff of the future. yave1964
I am quite happy with the choice of Nolan, he is getting the most out of this bunch that anyone can. I don't see him being the end all to get this club to the Stanley cup, Hell I doubt there will be anyone or at the least not more than a couple of these guys still there when they make the playoffs. But he has stabilized an organization that was mismanaged by the previous regime. Class guy.
