SwedeFly
.....when Vinny returns ?Hartnell or Simmonds will have to be on our 4th line.I'm fine with that, but we all know neither of these guys will be pleased.

I wouldn't necessarily have a problem w/ demoting Hartnell. The 4th line is a bit too harsh though - even for him. murraycraven
and I though Jody Shelley was an expensive 4th line goon... Hartnell wins the cake when Vinny gets back...
InHexyWeTrust
If Hartnell on the fourth line results in the fourth line playing 9-10 minutes a night or so, it could be good for everyone. Balanced lines.

Well he has to go somewhere and the Vinny-Schenn-Simmer line was playing well up until the injury Vinny was the leading goal scorer before being hurt so i would leave that line intact....no room on the G-Raffl-Jake line...Coots-Read-Downie are gelling well... ...so no place to put him except the 4th....unless it's out the door or fetching popcorn!!!!! So...G-Raffl-JakeVinny-Schenn-SimmerCoots-Read-DownieZac Hall-Hart or Van instead of Hall...but Hall is huge on face offs so i'll take him...send Van to Phantoms. brelic
There is absolutely no way Hartnell will be on the 4th line. He makes too much money, and they would not humiliate him like that. You don't give a winger $4.75M for 6 years, and then stick him on the 4th line. So one of two things will happen: One of the top 3 lines will have its chemistry disrupted to fit Hartnell. I'm guessing Raffl will be the odd man out because he just hasn't earned that kind of respect yet. I don't think it's the right hockey move, but it's the right 'team' move, or 'classy organization' move... whatever you want to call it. Or, someone will be traded. I think eventually, someone will be traded anyway, but they need more time to evaluate if Raffl is the real deal or is just a phase. If he turns out to be a legit top 9 winger, with more than just wheels, they can afford to move someone.
murraycraven
No way you take raffl off that top line Brel... No way. It would have to be the second of third line... The g line has 22 points in the last 6 games and is a plus 17. Breaking that line up to fit Hartnell would be gross negligence if that line continues to play well. doom88
I don't care about Hartnell's feelings. The fourth line is what he earned, based also on the other three lines and their play/chemistry. Maybe Berube could roll four lines with Hartnell, Hall, and Rinaldo? That line would be physical, and could possibly contribute meaningful offense. I agree... it would not be a smart hockey move to shift Raffl off the top line while they're hot. All I'm saying is that I would be extremely surprised if Hartnell is moved to the 4th line. Although, now that I think about it, I might make him more willing to waive his NTC

SwedeFly
@doom88The only possibility, assuming the team stays healthy, is to sit Hartnell....and in turn maybe he will lift his NTC to get moved at the deadline to a contender who needs whatever it is Hartnell brings. He brings a lot, but his skating doesn't mesh with the pretty boys.
