Watched Wings pick Andreas paste the Niagara Icedogs with 4 goals last night in a Colts 6-2 victory. At 6'2" and around 210 lbs, this guy skates like the wind, has a great shot, excellent passing skills and is a big part of both Barries pp and pk.Currently sits 11th in OHL scoring after a slow start. Heck of a draft pick Wing fans.

@flyercanuck  Saw him play a few games for the Knights in his rookie year, great skater, wicked moves....tons of potential. The Wings just seem to pull these guys out of their ass....lol.

Well apparently AA loves playing those Icedogs...FIVE goals and two assists last night. That's 9 goals in 2 games...WOW!  Moves him into 3rd in OHL scoring. After a slow start this guy is on fire!

(hopefully this news eases the pain of the loss of Zetterberg for Mr. Yave)

Lol, it helps but I wish they had a system that did not disrupt the season every four years.

  There have been some iconic moments since the pro's started playing in the Olympics, I give you that, Sweden in 2006 muscling through everyone, Crosby with his amazing goal in overtime of the gold medal game last time, Roenick and Cheli and the boys introducing alcohol to the Mormons in Utah, but to me I would rather have the juniors participate and let the pros continue to play in the NHL.

  The problem with that is it would be too unwieldy and we already HAVE the world Juniors so it falls a bit flat. Personally, I would rather get a chance to study boys like Athanasiou and Mantha on the world stage of the Olympics and allow the NHL to do what they do best.

@yave1964

Well, the old problem was you had the Soviets using professional 'amateurs"

 I know the Olympics are meant to be for the best non-pro athletes in the world, but it just doesn't work that way. Every year you have athletes who are practically on their own versus athletes whose government throws millions upon millions at them.

 Anyway, IMHO Double A is the steal of that draft. Incredibly dynamic player who lifts people out of their seats multiple times a night.

I just bought his card on ebay. Easily the top Wings prospect whom I did not have a card of.

@flyercanuck  Good Lord, looks the Wings have struck it rich...again. Is there any way to pilfer their scouting aces?  Double their money....lol. Our guys are no stiffs, but the Wings scouting group is great at mining for diamonds in the rough. His wheels and his hands tell me he will be an NHL'er, only question is top six or bottom six, but real high ceiling on this guy.

@jammer2

 He's top 6 material easily IMO.

 Hey, Ho-Sang is generally ranked around where Philly will likely pick. What's your opinion on him? I like what I've seen but that's only small doses.

@flyercanuck  Ho-Sang is a very talented dangler type. My fear is he's on the smaller side and may get hammered at the NHL level, although he's fast enough to squeeze out of most hits at the OHL level, I don't think he'll do so in the pros. If he can get by the physicality side of things, he could be a very productive NHL player. It's a real tough call to project what he is like in the pros....he will have to add some weight/muscle that much is for sure.
