pilldoc
After the blow-out loss to the Bruins and a loss to the Ducks, I rally did not think this team had it in them to finish the last 4 games the way they did. After all the thread I started said they would only get 2 points. Well they proved me wrong. I still think this team has issues on the blue-line and I still think that there are 2 or 3 players that should be benched. With that being said....I will be the 1st to admit I was wrong and eat my huge portion of humble pie. They finished these last 4 games playing really well. In a nutshell that is more distressing to me then anything else. How can this team look sooooo bad vs. the Bruins and then look very good these last 4 games. (scratching my head). Anyway...congrats to this to team for buckling down and getting 8 points in the last 4 games. Hate to see the Olympics kill this momentum, but it is what it is and every team will go through this long 19 day break. Once again kudos to this team and I am now going to eat my share of humble pie.

After all the thread I started said they would only get 2 points. Well they proved me wrong You're not alone i only thought they would get 2 but then later hope i be wrong and they got more. Yum Yum. I like pie!!!!!! But they ain't out the woods yet. Now if they can play like that but a little better they may have a chance of getting in and getting past the first. As far as i will venture to guess with this team. They could come back after the break and not win another, or better yet win just enough to knock em out the the lottery. When they keep their legs moving and skate they look much better. Still a long ways to go to be tops in the east. Expect the worst pray for the best!!!! flyerrod
This is one of the few chances I get to pat myself on the back. Ever the optimist, I called for 9 out of 12 points for their last 6 games before the break. They got 10! That was a stretch of solid, playoff caliber teams (not counting Calgary although they too had picked up their game before running into the Flyers) they played and showed they really do have the ability to compete with the big boys. This team has shown these flashes of teamwork and skill but seem just now to be starting to consistently put it together. 15 of their remaining 24 games are against playoff caliber teams. I hope the Olympic break brings some healing and rest to the guys not participating in the Olympics. P.S. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, SOMEONE PLEASE STEAL CLAUDE GIROUX'S GOLF CLUBS BEFORE THIS BREAK!! jammer2
@flyerrod Flyer management should just forbid him to ever participate in Golf ever again. Being his employers, and considering the extent of his previous injuries, they should have that right. I realize it was fluke injury and the odds of it ever happening again are astronomical, but it should be the Flyers call.
ruxpin
I can't find the thread where we made predictions for this set of games, and people said I was high. But I was pretty damn close to right (mostly because I wasn't exactly serious). The only part I was serious - - and wrong - - about was that I really did think they'd beat Anaheim

The funny/stupid part is somehow I predicted they would play 8 games in a stretch of 7...just to make it interesting.

I didn't realize there was another thread. I don't make a habit of predicting because it makes it so much easier to later say "I knew it all along!" if there isn't proof otherwise. murraycraven
Doc, I am willing to eat some crow as well but it is far too early for apologies IMO. We have seen this team go on nice little runs only to fall back to mediocrity. No doubt they have played well and I hope I am wrong... The stretch run s going to be tough. Oh I know the month of March is going to be absolutely brutal. I was just look at those few games before the Olympic break. They exceed my expectations for those games only. Let's see how they come out of the Olympic break. For the most part they are done playing the pansy teams. Time to play the big boys. King Knut
Does anyone else besides me just assume he hit a hazard, got pissed and slammed his club into a tree, shattering the shaft and this injuring his hand? They were so weird about it and really seemed to be Hushing it up. My other theory was a drunken cart driving incident. @flyerrod Flyer management should just forbid him to ever participate in Golf ever again. My other theory was a drunken cart driving incident. Whether it was a tree, the ground, the cart, whatever, I figured his injury was due to taking out his frustration on the club after a bad shot. It's why I don't golf much...I find it too frustrating.
jammer2
@flyercanuck I thought he was trying to wedge the ball out of a ditch or something and the club broke in two, which caused the injury to his hand....I think......

AndyS
I was at the Anaheim game with my son. That game was not much fun to watch. They looked flat to say the least. (Whatever the opposite of "jam" is, that was them that night.) I guess the fact they they haven't lost since that game means that my son & I were their good luck charm.
