hf101
“I'm medically cleared to do anything I need to do for my job,” Vokoun said. “I did tests before the (Olympic) break,” “Everything seems to be fine.”At 37 Vokoun has acknowledged at times during the past five months that he has considered retirement, but he remains eager to play in the NHL again. Zatkoff has done an excellent job as back-up thus I will assume he goes back to Scranton as I doubt Vokoun is tradeable.
Polaris922
@hf101 That does open the discussion of what to do. Vokoun or Zatkoff. I think Zatkoff has had an excellent time in the NHL, and I almost hate to send him away when he could be getting valuable experience. flyercanuck
@Polaris922 You could always keep all three up...play Fleury the first playoff game, then send him down.
jammer2
@Polaris922 I think there are 2-3 other goalies in your org at could/might have a better inside track into being the goalie of the future for the Pens, so Zatkoff going to the A is not the end of the world....Tristian Grant and a few others should block his way eventually anyways. Besides, when Fleruy blows up in the playoffs, do you really want to turn to a rook?
