This makes for a day of bad news in that area, as defenseman Paul Martin‘s broken hand is expected to sideline him four-to-six weeks. Quote
nossagog Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 (edited) Bennet aside, I'd have loved to see how Martin was hurt in the olympics. There was so much stick work going on that wasn't being called in all the games, I'm surprised there were not quite a few more broken hands. jammer2 Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 @nossagog This is bad news for my fantasy team. I had Bennett stashed away on the IR, and was counting on him being teamed with Crosby as a sneaky add. Back to plan B....Gaborik being activated from the IR. Quote

Back to plan B....Gaborik being activated from the IR.Well it was a good thought Jammer, I think that was the plan for him to go straight to the top with Kunitz and Crosby. Too bad, I really think the kid has the skills, and this was going to be his chance. Quote
jammer2 Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 @nossagog At least he will be back for the playoff push, around the time he comes back, they should be battling it out with Boston for home ice advantage through the Eastern playoffs. That home ice is badly needed, so he may help in that regard. It's kind of like making a trade a few weeks before the season ends, will be a nice depth addition. I was hoping he clicks with Crosby and Kunitz to the point where he steals some power play time as well. Wondering if they go with 4 forwards on the top pp, with Malkin and Matta playing the points. Is the pp even an outside chance for Bennett? Quote

jammer2 Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 @nossagog That's what I figured. Some pp is better than no pp time in fantasy. I can take the hit in that cat if he is producing with regularity on Sid's wing. If there are injuries, I expect Jokinen to be the first player to make the jump to the top pp, but Bennett might be the second one in the pecking order to break into the top pp. Quote
