B21
Would a Malkin for Shea Weber be a trade for Shero to consider if Nashville was willing. Nashville needs a number one scoring centre and Pittsburgh could use a stud on defense. Just a thought. I would do that deal in a heartbeat and that's not a reflection on Malkin. flyercanuck
@B21 I think it makes your team better. And again, not a knock on Malkin. It would also open the door on getting a forward for Letang?
canoli
Wow! You guys - who I respect - are actually discussing moving Malkin. or even Sidney Crosby!! Holy cow. Man I think that is nuts. Rux is absolutely right, get a "real" coach in there and build a dynasty. Seriously Pens' fans what exactly are you lacking? You want another tough guy to protect Sid? All the goons in the world won't help if they don't see the ice. Malkin is a game-breaker who goes through tough times early in a series. Crosby is a world-class, once-in-a-generation player. He is so far above Ovechkin as a hockey player - a complete player - it's not even close. Would Weber look great in Pitt gold? Of course. He'd look even better in O&B. But the Pens didn't lose because the talent level was too low - on either side of the ice. In the 5 games I saw from beginning to end they were outcompeted - period. They didn't even appoach the level of intensity the Rangers were playing with. Fleury was fine, can't blame it on goaltending. Nosa is right, that constant backing-in, giving up the blue line without a contest - WTF kinda PO hockey is THAT??
Polaris922
@canoliI don't want that deal. I keep Crosby and Malkin. Our playoff trouble was scoring this year AND last. Not defense or goaltending. Getting rid if Malkin won't improve that. Free agency will though...
