B21
@B21 @Polaris922 Ya, the money is high for a one year wonder, so to speak, but certainly in line with what usually goes on during the FA binge signing day. 7 years?!? 7 years. He'll "only" be 34 at the end of the deal but still. Sounds like he traded length for a lower annual salary. Doesn't make it a better deal though. Time will tell. flyercanuck
@B21 What does make it worse is the same team signed Orpik to that contract.
Polaris922
@B21 What does make it worse is the same team signed Orpik to that contract. That still blows me away. $5 million.. as if he were 5 years younger.
nossagog
@B21 What does make it worse is the same team signed Orpik to that contract.$11.25M/year for the two of them is seriously going to inhibit their teams ability to keep young talent on the team to compliment the Grape Ape. I see this as a big mistake for the Craps.
flyercanuck
@nossagog I could almost see the Niskanen deal (other than the length, and the fact he's only had one good year) but that Orpik contract is just bad.
