jammer2
I'm sure that shoe would have been on the other foot to had Umberger planned with linemates like Giroux and Jake. Give it time after watching next season with Umberger we'll have a better perspective on who won or lost this deal. Totally agree with this, stick Ummby on that G & J line and he outscores Hartnell no problem. For playing on a top line and top pp, Hartsy had some very mediocre numbers. We win this deal automatically from the very start, just due to ..... A) Ummby can skate without falling down every shift B) Increased playoff production.....Ummby has 14 career goals in 30 career playoff games, almost reaching Harts totals for 91 playoff games.....AND they are not garbage goals, lot's of OT and game typing goals in there....gotta love that. C)The team is faster, not by much, but definitely faster. D) Ummby signed for slightly lower number AND *2* less years......HUGE!! E) We will be shorthanded about 20 less times next year....so fewer pp goals against AND no momentum killing penalties that Harts was famous for. He was not smart when it came to taking penalties....sometimes because he was to slow and was "surfing" an opposing player in a vain attempt to catch up...or just plain ol' STUPID penalties.....and he never learned from those PIM's.....he just kept doing the same stupid things over and over again....not capable of learning from mistakes. I'm calling it right now, Harts will be a bad fit in Columbus. I don't think they will be pleased with his non existent puck handling skills. This will dictate a drop to the bottom six....and along with that, drastic point reductions. The JUG line??
