The Quigster
Seems to be missing here, being from So.Jersey I don't get real information like some members from Canada, who have much greater access to who is doing what. Most of the online stuff is about a small nucleus of players, who are star types. I posted a couple weeks about Brendan Lemieux(whose stock seems to have dropped since) Flyer Canuck responded. Are there any other Flyer types in the draft? Lemieux as of yesterday via Meltzer was projected at 38th down from 28th a couple weeks ago. I'd like to hear who anybody suggest. There is a whole thread on this subject two thread above this one with many different opinions and mock drafts there as well.
flyercanuck
@ Everyone has their own ideas who should go where. One person will have Lemieux, for example, as a mid 2nd rounder. Someone else will have him ranked 20-25 in the first. I've seen Nick Ritchie rated anywhere from 3rd overall to around 20. Here's a few http://www.mynhldraft.com/NHL-Mock-Draft/ Most people have Virtanen top 10...Button has him at 43 http://www.tsn.ca/draftcentre/feature/?id=49649 http://forecaster.thehockeynews.com/hockeynews/hockey/articles.php?aid=

Dylan Larkin sounds like a better Flyer LW prospect than Milano to me.
flyercanuck
@OccamsRazor I haven't seen enough of Milano or Larkin to have a firm opinion. But Milano sounds like a puck hog who's stats were padded by playing with Jack Eichel. I'm just going by what I've read, not what I've seen. Of course a lot will depend on players falling, or reaches on others. If Virtanen falls to 17th it seems like a no brainer to take him. He just seems like he could fall...that's why I mentioned him. OccamsRazor
I'm just going by what I've read, not what I've seen. Same here. I don't know if you read what i posted about Larkin. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=722788&cmpid=nhl-twt "He's probably one of the best skaters we've had come through the program in a long time," U-18 coach Danton Cole said. "But he's also diligent; he's interested in his defensive zone. He wants to be a Steve Yzerman-type player." The 6-foot-1, 190-pound left-handed shooter scored extraordinarily well in several key areas according to Central Scouting, including work ethic, defensive reliability and communication with teammates and coaches. He also is a proven penalty killer and power-play performer. "He skates well and has great closing speed, uses his body well," NHL Central Scouting's David Gregory said. "He has skill but is not afraid of using physical play for puck possession. He has good vision and playmaking." All sounds good.
flyercanuck
@OccamsRazor I did read it, thanks. I've read a few good things about him. I don't know if I've ever had this many different names in my head that I thought would be good picks for the Flyers. I do think we're going to end up with a good player. But it seems like it could be any one of about ten different guys.
