New cap 69 mil

Recommended Posts

A) this is bullshit that it went down. What happened to the rumors of 74?

B) there are plenty of reasons to unload Vinny, but now they're desperate and will have to take on more of his salary in any deal.

How is homer still involved with the team at all after all this let alone everyone's boss?

That's why it's important to trade Lecavalier now

Hextall wants cap flexibility

Preaching to the choir dude. Wanted that ass out for decades.

A big issue with the cap that I believe would be found unconstitutional by at least the US Supreme Court is that it fluctuates but leaves teams no recourse to correct their payrolls.

It forces teams to negotiate with players under what will be false circumstances.

Any year in which the cap goes down a team should be afforded buyouts. That way the player doesn't get completely screwed and a team can make up for the fact that the rules changed retroactively.

Fire Bettman NOW!!!

Doesn't this go away on day one of the season when they can TIIR Pronger again?

Btw if I haven't said so, the rules on that over 35 crap are asinine. The guy should be allowed to retire. It's complete nonsense.

The Phantoms totally need a veteran presence. ;)

Only Gary Bettman himself would give suchc a toadie answer.

Only Holmgren would offer that deal not knowing the ramifications.  It's not like the NHL changed the rules AFTER the deal.  They were already in place...to keep teams from circumventing the cap by adding bogus year at the end of an older players contract to lessen the cap hit.

Flyers tried it and got burned.
