brelic Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Ghost/Morin = Beauty and the Beast? Haha. Looking forward to the game - I might be able to catch a period at work before heading out.
Digityman Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Any idea on how to watch it out of market?I have access to a Comcast account but I don't see CSN on the Xfinity app.
Irishjim Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Any idea on how to watch it out of market?I have access to a Comcast account but I don't see CSN on the Xfinity app.O&B said they will post a stream 15 minutes prior to game..i'll post it here and in the shoutbox
Podein25 Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Taylor Leier - Scott Laughton - Nicolas Aube-Kubel That's a nice looking line. All three are hard-working, committed two-way players. Our third line in a year or two...

flyercanuck Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 That's a nice looking line. All three are hard-working, committed two-way players. Our third line in a year or two... I swear to God I came here to write almost those exact words.
Podein25 Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 I swear to God I came here to write almost those exact words. You're a genius!
JackStraw Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 You're a genius!I see what you did there...
Podein25 Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 I see what you did there... I'm nothing if not transparently transparent
murraycraven Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 I'm nothing if not transparently transparentapparently your an apparent genius and I, for one, apparenlty agree - looks like a great line there.
Podein25 Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 looks like a great line there. Yeah, but now I'm wondering who will score. I think they all have underrated offensive skills, especially Laughton, but I was just looking up what Red Line said about A-K and they had him listed as the 3rd worst "Hands of Stone, saying he is "creative enough to get plenty of chances and not shy about shooting, but couldn’t score on a soccer net." Still, he ranked 3rd fastest, so you have to like the speed.
JackStraw Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Hey hey hey... there's a hockey game on!
brelic Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Two fights in a span of a few minutes. Both Flyers (Morin and Fyten) ended up on top of their guys, so that's good I guess. Not much of a fight in either case, though. Ghost looks *smooth*, and Laughton looks dangerous. Aube-Kubel is in scoring positions a lot and has made some nice plays.
Podein25 Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Aube-Kubel is in scoring positions a lot and has made some nice plays. But didn't finish did he?
BobbyClarkeFan16 Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Yeah, but now I'm wondering who will score. I think they all have underrated offensive skills, especially Laughton, but I was just looking up what Red Line said about A-K and they had him listed as the 3rd worst "Hands of Stone, saying he is "creative enough to get plenty of chances and not shy about shooting, but couldn’t score on a soccer net." Podein25 Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Kyle Woodlief is a jackass. I take everything that guy says with a grain of salt. I don't know him personally so cannot comment. I know a contributor to RLR, however, and he is anything but a jackass. More importantly, he is a first rate judge of hockey talent. I think the report reflects that. I find that where RLR differs with other scouting services on a player is often on the question of hockey IQ - RLR values it. I share that view. I also think RLR is less biased toward size and likes to give praise for little guys with heart. This often means ranking them higher than they would ever get drafted. I also think RLR is funny. But I'll bite: why do you say that about KW?
OccamsRazor Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 What the hey no updates on the rookie game?????? You guys are getting slack around here.............YOU'RE ALL FIRED!!!!!!!!!!!
JackStraw Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Overall I'd say it went about as we might have expected. The guys who were supposed to look good did look good. Obviously I was paying a lot more attention to the Flyers players than the Caps players, but Morin, Hagg, Ghost, Sanheim, and Laughton all impressed me in some way or another. Leier also looked pretty good. Both goalies (Stolarz played the first 30 min, Ouellette (sp?) the second) looked good. It's hard to judge because probably most of the guys in the game (for both sides) will never get more than a cup of coffee in the NHL. The Flyers had the better team, but we also had more guys with pro (AHL) experience, and that showed. Sanheim might have stood out for me mainly because as one of the younger guy, and being built like a stick figure, I though he might be a little over-matched. But he looked good. Skates well and seemed very confident and poised.
brelic Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 What the hey no updates on the rookie game?????? You guys are getting slack around here.............YOU'RE ALL FIRED!!!!!!!!!!! Flyers won 3-0. I missed the second half of the game, but the rookies looked good in the first half. Straka, Aube-Kubel (off his skate from a Laughton scoring attempt), and Goumas (empty-netter) scored the goals. In the first half, Ghost was the standout player on the ice, IMO. He is fast and smart with the puck. I would almost guarantee he sees some games with the Flyers this year.
mojo1917 Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 the parts i saw had Hagg with the puck seemingly all the damn time and doing good things with it...#54 right ? I thought 54 looked good, 50 looked big and pretty agile, 73 looked fast, 71 looked fast and smart...Sanhiem ? there was a medium sized guy playing defense that skated by a lot of people, i'm going to assume that was Ghost. I liked the speed all over the line up that our young guys had...it was refreshing to see speed in orange white and black.
JackStraw Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 54 - Hagg53 - Ghost50 - Morin73 - Aube Kubel71 - Sanheim49 - Laughton59 - Pedderson (also looked decent on D)
