hf101 Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 September 27th Event Will Mark Hockey Debut at PPL Center September 17, 2014 Lehigh Valley, PA - The Lehigh Valley Phantoms, proud AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, are pleased to announce the "Battle on Hamilton," which will take place at the brand-new PPL Center on Saturday, September 27 at 5:00 PM. The game will pit Phantoms and Flyers players against one another in an exhibition contest that will be the first hockey event at the state-of-the-art PPL Center. "This is a perfect way to kick off the hockey season at PPL Center," said Phantoms executive vice president Chris Porreca. "We can't wait to open the doors to this beautiful new arena and for all the hockey fans in the Lehigh Valley community, it will be a great chance to see current and former Phantoms skating together." Some of the former Phantoms that could be in attendance include Flyers captain Claude Giroux, Brayden Schenn, Sean Couturier, Matt Read, Zac Rinaldo and R.J. Umberger. Meanwhile, other current Flyers and Phantoms players will be on hand as well for the mixed-squad game. The "Battle on Hamilton" comes one day after the start of Phantoms training camp in the Lehigh Valley and will precede the team's official preseason schedule, which begins Wednesday, October 1 in a 7:05 PM clash with the Hershey Bears at PPL Center. "The Battle on Hamilton will provide a first glimpse to the Lehigh Valley of all the excitement that's to come in the upcoming season," Porreca said. "It's a wonderful way to kick off Phantoms training camp and should be an extremely enjoyable evening for our fans."Tickets for the "Battle on Hamilton" will go on sale to the general public on Friday, September 19 and are available starting at $10 for upper-bowl seating, $15 for lower-level seats and $20 for club-level seating.
