hf101 Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 The Starting rosters in tonight's game have a fair amount of regular roster players. I have tickets (unfortunately obtained too early to take advantage of the free ones) along with the home opener against the Devils in two weeks. Looking forward to watching Laughton, Morin and Gostisbehere and of course the fastest skater... Try to post an update later. JackStraw Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 @hf101 - just make sure you stay alert when Rosehill is on the ice. If you blink, you might miss one of his highlights. He's THAT fast.

jammer2 Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 @vonginous I've got it on hockeystreams, but don't know of anywhere where it's free as of yet.
Samifan Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Is it streaming anywhere?Streaming is what Rosehill does when he's on the ice!
pilldoc Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Streaming is what Rosehill does when he's on the ice! I thought he was streaking!
vonginous Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 How much is hockeystreams? Is it worthwhile?
brelic Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 I only caught the last half, but Flyers looked really good. Especially Ghost. Man, he's noticeable all the friggin time. Speed, passing, getting out of traffic. Akeson and Laughton looked solid too. Akeson could be a real gem of a find. Who scored the first 2 goals?
hf101 Posted September 25, 2014 Author Posted September 25, 2014 B Schenn and Vinny on the PP Ghost with the third one. Nice shots on all 3 goals.
brelic Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 B Schenn and Vinny on the PP Ghost with the third one. Nice shots on all 3 goals. Oh, nice for Schenn to find the back of the net in exhibition. Get the feeling early and reduce some pressure as he rolls into the season.
murraycraven Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Dude.. I hate to even say it but Gost can flat out skate. Kid is a joy to watch. I would give the kid a shot... Not many players have that skating ability. Not big on rushing players but he is special. It will take time for his defensive play bet he is deadly on the O zone...

Like you say, he's fun to watch. I saw him out of defensive position a few times, but he'll learn that stuff. I'd at least give him some real season games because he already looks better than most of what we have on the blueline anyway.
murraycraven Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 I purely meant hating to have to rush a prospect brel... The kid is such a great skater that you almost need that skill... All about patience but that kid can play!
Poulin20 Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 The future looks bright lads...we are finally trying to do this the right way!Oh and BTW, screw the Devils!
Philly29 Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Great to see the Flyers kick some Jersey Devil ass. Could not get game tonight... Could someone fill me in on who looked good and who did not tonight. How did Ghost and Laughton look. I read a few post that Ghost was unreal with his skating tonight..... HOCKEY IS HERE!!!!!!!!
hf101 Posted September 26, 2014 Author Posted September 26, 2014 Great to see the Flyers kick some Jersey Devil ass. Could not get game tonight... Could someone fill me in on who looked good and who did not tonight. How did Ghost and Laughton look. I read a few post that Ghost was unreal with his skating tonight..... HOCKEY IS HERE!!!!!!!! Pretty much everyone on the Flyers played well tonight. Mason didn't have much work in the first half of the game and Zepp played strong in the second half. As far as forwards go all four lines played reasonably well. Laughton contibuted on two power plays and then scored one of his own. It was great watching both Laughton and Gostisbehere get their first goals. Both Morin and Ghost played well. The Flyers controlled a lot of the play as the Devils didn't put up many puck battles and thus took some unnecessary penalties in the first period. The Flyers ended the first capitalizing on every one with two different lines on the PP. The Devils looked slow, and unorganized at times. Players like Jagr, Gomez, and Kabrele floated unwilling to battle against the Flyers for loose pucks. This was an easy win for the Flyers.
flyercanuck Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Just watched the highlights.....nice shot by Ghost. Was he paired with Morin? I'd love to see those two develop together into a scary two-headed monster. Good to see Laughton get some points too.
jammer2 Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 @flyercanuck Yeah, Morin and Ghost were playing together. I could see them making a nice pairing in the future, one stays at home, leaving the other to roam a bit more freely.
hf101 Posted September 26, 2014 Author Posted September 26, 2014 As Jammer said, Ghost and Morin played rather well together. The Flyers didn't spend much time in the defensive zone when those two were on the ice as they made some good first passes out of the defensive zone or on at least one occasion Ghost sped past the neutral zone taking the puck up ice for a shot on goal. Ghost also played on the PP with Streit.
flyercanuck Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Good to hear. Let's see how he does in the A for a couple months and maybe bring him in for the odd game against the "McDavid" contenders. It's going to be fun watching this D develop.....FINALLY!
Howie58 Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Greetings: After reading about the game you have to wonder if we are witnessing a "rebirth" through youngins. It is a credit to the scouting staff and Holmgren, who might have some turds in the long-term contract realm but knows his stuff on talent. You have to wonder if we have a logjam in the forward department. But that isn't such a bad thing. By the way, is Zepp a potential backup candidate should Emery go down? I have to give the guy credit; he has persevered in Europe to build on his Thrasher draft pick status. It would be nice to know this franchise might actually have depth in goal. Peace, Howie
brelic Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 By the way, is Zepp a potential backup candidate should Emery go down? Good question, Howie. I would think so. I mean, it can't hurt to give him the first crack, can it?
Bakanekimiwa Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 How much is hockeystreams? Is it worthwhile? Only had it for a week as of yet, but I'm already convinced it's the best thing going. 720p stream and DVR for every game. No blackouts... has worked flawlessly so far. What could be better? They have game chats, as well, if you're into that kinda thing. You can also watch all AHL ECHL and more. For a year 'donation'(legal loophole?) it's like $109. Well worth it when you consider that's about how much the competitors cost for much worse service. I am not a paid spokesperson for hockeystreams.com. But, i should be.
